I cancelled my Yahoo account..why hasn't my Yahoo IM shut down.. that was the main reason I cancelled..NO MORE IM for me..

not all are lost,please try the following:
1.instal java script on you pc(latest version)
2.try to connect with all know browsers(explorer,firefox,chrome,,,,)
3.try from a diferent pc
4.try diferent pc ,diferent location,diferet ISP

Usually there are several reasons why it happens the way it happened :
1) Someone is trying to gain access & lock your account. 2) A person tries to guess your password & ID by attempting more than 3 times or so.
But no worries, it's a normal security precaution which will eventually locked the account to prevent the unauthorized user from getting in successfully. This lock down usually will last 24hours after the failed attempts made by the unauthorized user. Go to this main Yahoo! logging site & insert the correct ID & password of your account. The first attempt may prove failure, second attempts will lead you to the "word verification system" which is to make sure that you are not "bots". Follow all those procedures provided by Yahoo!. 48hours after visiting that Yahoo! main logging site, your account should return as normal.
**NOTE: Remember to clear out your ID every time signing out of any sites that preserve your personal informations such as Facebook, Yahoo! Messenger @ Mail & etc. to prevent them from being hack or so.

Actually, the two accounts could not be "tied together." In any case, you (or anyone but your acquaintance) will not be able to remove the banditcoon account. It really does sound like this person DOES have your password, and is using your Yahoo account for whatever reasons. Check your "Sent" mail folder to see is there is anything there that you did not send. Check your IM file to see if there are no messages that you did not initiate.

In the end, you may have to simply delete your own account, and start over with a really secure password, etc.

Hi, Dear User, before you delete your yahoo account permanently, there are some things which you have to bring in your concentration
Once you will delete your yahoo account, you will definitely delete all your saved data on yahoo and all your emails and most important thing you will lose access all the websites which are associated with your yahoo account. So think 100 times before deleting it.

It will ask your details like user id and password 3.once you give your id and password "Please be sure to read the next page carefully, as important information about your account and account information is included. 4. Once you have entered the password last time and read all the information and you are ready to delete the account then click on 'Yes, terminate this account' button. 5. Your account will then be deleted completely.

my account is locked for security reason i am trying to costumer care center but there is no solution my problem please help me

nothing can be done to this unfortunately due to yahoo security reasons... try using outlook and configure outlook express...hope something can happen... but mainly u have to mail yahoo stating this ..

I presume you use at&t now as your internet..... is your yahoo a paid service ?

If you cancel AT&T they just close your email account. you can contact www.yahoo.com and ask them to shut down your online account.
