Question about Bose Acoustimass 15 System

Open Question

Acoustimass V20 will not power on - no light on

We just bought (used) this entire V20 system. The previous owner swears it worked great before she packed it up. We've hooked it up (and everything really looks like new), but the module does not even light up on the back next to the plug. In the set up directions, it says to turn on the module, but we can't find a switch or button anywhere, just the light that doesn't do anything. Any suggestions?

SOURCE: Acoustimass Subwoofer has a low "hummm" sound when turned on.

Sounds like an inadequate ground wire in the signal cable. You may have to replace the cable between the reciever and bass module. It also, however, may be IN the bass or reciever module.

SOURCE: Changing the inpout voltage of inside bose Acoustimass module

Probably not, but you can install a step-down transformer if there's room inside the unit. Since these speakers don't use much current, a small transformer will work. It doesn't have to be a 220-to-110 transformer either - any transformer designed to cut the voltage in half is fine. A 24 volt-to-12 volt transformer will also work.

The master on/off switch will usually be on the back (or maybe even the bottom) of the largest component, which contains the power and control circuits.

What happens if you disconnect only the source end of the RCA's? Atmospheric noise can enter through the cables if their shields are grounded well.

If your system is equipped with a tape monitor loop, you can switch the EQ out of the circuit by disengaging the tape monitor switch. If the EQ is connected to the pre-out / main-in jumper, you would have to defeat the EQ before you hook up a conventional speaker. I don't believe the EQ has a defeat switch - you'd have to rig a bypass.

Once defeated, if you have a system equipped with a Speaker A / Speaker B selector, the smaller speakers could hook up to the second system. If that's not possible, speaker switches are available for reasonable money. It is very important, though, that the 901 EQ i defeated when using conventional loudspeakers.

Yes, there should be no issues at all with just using different speakers. Just connect the 191's as you would the cubes and you should be fine. Please rate my answer, thanks.

It was determined that more than one code turns the TV on and off, but you have to keep trying codes until you find the code that allows the Bose remote to control all of the TV functions. Thanks.

JBL EON15-G2--Does the HF Amplifer to the driver have any voltage?

The 2 leads that come off the HF driver are different sizes...you should only be able to hook them up one way. Takes the guess work out of it for ya.

Assuming there is nothing wrong with the speaker, hooking up the 2418H HF driver to it should do the trick. However, I blew my HF driver a few months ago and bought a new one, only to blow it immediately. This was because the motherboard of the JBL EON G2 had actually failed and caused the HF driver to fail. Once I replaced the motherboard and the HF driver (again) everything was back to sounding great. Hope that helps.

I need help with a system that I just bought.

Well it should be like this...Your amp is prologic which means that it has 5+1 outputs (sub out may be for active sub).Connect your speakers on specific output for each one (center, front left, front right, rear left, rear right and sub).Other devices,CD,tuner...connect to the amp with signal RCA-RCA cabels. On the back of the amp you have all marked inputs. You wasn't specific what do you want to hook?!If you want to hook this "new" to kenwood connect rec out of it to aux in on kenwood. If oposite kenwood rec out to "new" aux in.Hope that this is what you need

How to wire

From the TV or Cable Box look for the audio output (red/white) use a RCA cable and hook to your Jensen system. Look for audio input on your Jensen and choose the right input selection. Example: Aux connect the RCA on the Aux input, TV connect the RCA on the TV input on your Jensen and so on....
