My St. Croix Hastings pellet stove is not working. Last Sunday morning I noticed some pellets had burned in the hopper. I added more pellets and ran the stove like normal. It made a squeaking sound. On monday it stopped working. When I turn it on it stays on for 10 seconds and shuts off automatically. I have cleaned the stove thoroughly. The auger does not turn at all. Could it be the auger motor is bad? Or maybe something wrong with the control panel?

Hi,
Check for power to the auger motor... power but no run equals bad motor and/or jammed auger... no power means bad board or high limit cutout needs reset...

You will need to do some checking and try ti figure out what is going on....
From the mention of the squeaking I would say that maybe a bearing went out on the auger and siezed up which may have also burnt out the motor...

Just bought a house with a Gibraltar SCR stove in it. I want to use this thing, but have never owned a stove and don't know how. What fuel? How to set the fuel in the stove, etc. Can you help?

Gibraltar makes coal, pellet and wood stoves. Stoves that burn wood pellets have a hopper and feeder auger that feeds pellets into the burning chamber. They also require electricity to work. From what I read online you should be able to burn wood in the stove but I believe the coal stoves have a smaller burning chamber.

I purchases an elcipse pellet stove in 1990. It still works perfectly. I need to replace the insulation blocks for the side walls and also need a new ash pan. Do you know where i can purchase these items.

Elcipse was manufactured by Warnock Hersey, but was sold to St Croix. So, their parts may be interchangeable with your stove. Try Pellet Stove Parts.com and click on other brands for St Croix.

St croix pellet stove

Had the same problem which I discovered this weekend..........

I have an eleven year old Afton Bay....the versa grate was not moving. I look into the inner workings of the stove and saw a bracket which had broken off....

The bracket was attached to the versa grate rod and made contact with the cam system in the stove...this is what moves the versa grate...........

I called my dealer, the part costs about $12.00 and looks like it can be replaced with out having a service guy come out..........

Hope this helps
