Question about HP Office Equipment & Supplies

I replaced a print cartridge, print4d test page, scanned it vand it is now telling me my cartridge is stalled. There is nothing to block it. I called tech support and after being on the line for over 30 minutes they asked me to hold on and disconnected me. HELP

    apologies sir but i couldn't comprehend the exact problem, i have worked with the printing industry for the last 14 years, pardon me for asking but my question was not inappropriate, i was just trying to help for i cannot understand your exact problem

    after i refilled cartridge and again want to print documents but it is not printing the letter and the pictures are of unusual colors why ?

How do you stop a test page from printing every time the printer is turned on?

Here's how to stop the unwanted print out of test pages.

1. Let the printer print the test page.
2. Place the printed test page in the scanner face down and wait for 10 seconds.
3. Press the scan button of the printer to scan the printed test page.
Make sure that the printer scanned the document properly.

That's it. Every time you install a new cartridge, the printer aligns the print cartridge as well as testing/aligning the scanner.

Note: Try to look at the top of the test page, it should have instructions to place it in the scanner.

Won't print. Screen keeps saying to press Enter to align cartridges but nothing happens

It is the test page it is alignment test page just put the printed alignment test page paper on scanner glass and press the scan button to complete the process. It is alignment process which is printer is doing for self testing after installing new cartridge. Just finish the process.

Printer problem for a dell 924 printer

I have run across several Dell & Lexmark printers that after a while of working great, decide to have an "issue"... If you are printing more than 1 page, they will print the first page, then stop. The computer says "Cartridge Stall" and the printer says "Hardware Error 0502" or something similar, depending on the printer... Anyway, the message on the computer suggests making sure your cartridges are installed correctly, and nothing is blocking their path... After dealing with this many times, I have finally found a solution that seems to work!

There is usually a metal bar that the cartridges slide back and forth on... over time, this bar can become "gunked up"... Use alcohol pads to clean up the bar, and the surrounding area.... Clean out as much of the track as you can also. Tada... .No more cartridge stall!!

My HP PSC 1401 printer always prints the test page everytime I switch the printer and put it back on. How can I stop this?

Take the test page ( also called : alighnment page ) that always prints when you switch on the printer and place it face down in the scanner.

Then press the scan button on the printer itself.
(this is the button at the bottom of all the buttons on the printer/scanner.)

Make sure that the printer scans the test page.
( sometimes you press the butoon and it doesn't scan )
( it makes a scanning noise when scanning succesfully )

Wont print


Please print an internal test page. If this only will produce a blank page as well, replace the toner/ink cartridges/print heads.

My HP Officejet 5610 All-in-One won't copy or scan any document


Your printer might need some servicing ,u can try out the following steps in order to service the unit .

Clean the electrical contacts on the print cartridges and the print carriage Followthese steps to clean the electrical contacts on the print cartridgesand the print carriage. Do not replace the cartridges until prompted todo so.
  1. With the power turned on, open the product and remove both cartridges.
  2. Disconnect the power cord from the product.
  3. Lightly moisten a cotton swab or lint-free cloth (like a coffee filter) with distilled, filtered, or bottled water. CAUTION: Tap water might contain contaminants that can damage the print cartridge.
  4. Whileholding the cartridge by the sides, gently wipe the cartridge contacts.Wipe the contacts with a dry, cotton cloth to dry the contacts andfinish cleaning. Figure 1: Clean the cartridge contacts c00617184.gif 1 - Contacts 2 - Nozzles
    NOTE: Do not touch the cartridge nozzles while cleaning the cartridge.
  5. Lightly moisten another cotton swab or lint-free cloth (like a coffee filter) with distilled, filtered, or bottled water. CAUTION: Tap water might contain contaminants that can damage the print carriage.
  6. Inside the product, clean and dry the electrical contacts of the print carriage with the swab or cloth. Figure 2: Carriage contacts c00246272.gif
  7. Wait five minutes for the contacts to dry.
  8. Plug the power cord into the back of the product and turn it on.
  9. When Insert (right or left) Ink cartridgeappears in the control panel display, insert one of the cartridges.Check for any messages that appear in the display and then insert theremaining cartridge.
  10. Print a self-test page again and check the print speed.
  11. If the self-test page takes significantly longer than 30 seconds, replace the ink cartridges, and repeat the self-test.
If you have replaced the cartridges and the self-test page takes significantly longer than 30 seconds, service your product. If the self-test page prints at an acceptable speed, continue to the next step to begin testing printing software.

unplug the power cord from the back of the unit without turning off theprinter.
press n hold # key and 6 key together n do not release the keys ,while holdingthem down plug in the power cord back into the unit.
wait for a few seconds as it would make certain noises and turn off , when theunit turns off release the keys .

after a few seconds turn on the printer , wait as it wud go into initialisationmode > might ask to press 1 for language (please follow instructions ) itwould give 2 or 3 allignment sheets.

In case it does not work the unit might need to be replaced . U can call HP Tech Support # 1800 474 6836 to get the replacement options as they provide a good deal .

HP psc 1315v (printer, scanner, copier) Will not print

The test page printing out every time it gets turned on is the printer's way of telling you it wants to be calibrated. Lay the test page on the scanner (follow the pictures on the test page) and scan it in. This should fix that problem and the "occasionally after waiting, something prints" problem.

Unfortunately, I don't have an answer to the "E" on the display or check printer cartridge light. Hope this helps!

Cartridge stalled

You need to clean the rollers in the back panel of the printer.

Unplug the printer while it is powered on and remove the back panel. Get a damp cloth (not too wet) and wipe off the rubber rollers in the printer as well as on the panel. Replace the panel and open the front where you load the cartridges in. Move them back and forth from side to side and make sure nothing is blocking them from moving. Plug printer back in. It should come on by itself and initialize.

Print a page from your computer. It should now only feed a single sheet at a time without causing a carriage or paper jam.

Not responding to PC instructions to print data


You need to load the PRINTED ALIGNMENT PAGE on the scanner glass, then press on "OK" button. It should start scanning the alignment page. That way, you are completing the PROCESS of ALIGNMENT.
