Question about Visioneer One Touch 7600 USB
Hello....I am unable to get my Visioneer OneTouch 8700 USB Scanner to work properly...it is a recent gift and brand new...I keep getting a "lock error" message indicating the scanner is locked underneath when my scanner is NOT locked,,,,I downloaded the latest driver from the Visioneer website...i am running Windows XP, Service Pack 3...I even popped the glass lid and physically moved the scan bar several times back and forth across the length of the scanner to make sure it wasn't "locked" or just "stuck"---it does move freely...upon replacing the glass lid and reconnecting the scanner to my computer i get the same "lock error" message problem,,,can u please help advise what I can do to resolve the matter,,,,it seems this is a common problem with Visioneer low end scanners,,,,after contacting Visioneer Knowledge Portal, I have checked everything that Visioneer advised in response (i.e., correct power supply connection, uodated driver, minimum RAM)....is this device simply unfixable?.....if so, why would Visioneer market such a deceptive, cheap product?....any advice you can give would be appreciated,,,I am at: email@example.com

Not sure if your problem is the same as mine, but I encountered the same error and only to find that I plugged in a wrong power adapter so it didn't have enough power to advance the scanner head (My moving caused this mixup). Check your power adapter OUTPUT is 12V (or whatever is specified on the scanner itself, usually found on the label on the bottom or rear).
