MEMORY CARD DOES NOT WORK - Sony PlayStation Portable (PSP) Console

Have you used this memory card before? Did it come with the PSP? Often times you need to format the card which the PSP should automatically do. If it is not doing this, you can put it onto your computer and make the folders "GAME, MUSIC, PHOTO, MOVIE" and then put it into your PSP and it should work. If that is unsuccessful you need to return the memory card because it is mostlikely broken.

As mattkanine said, you may need to format it first.
if that doesnt work, check and see if its a memory stick pro duo.
if neither of those is the problem, you may have a faulty memory stick and youll need to bring it back to where you got it.
if none of those seems to be the problem, borrow one from a friend or use another one of yours and see if they work.
also, check and see if you can get internet and sound, because the memory, sound, and wi-fi are allon the same board (my mem/sound/wifi board got muffed up,so id know that one).if they dont work, you may need to purchase a new circuit board/psp.
kind of a lengthy answer, but it should solve your problem.

Mt PS2 is not reading any memory card, not even a new one. What can I do?

Take it into a games store and get them to try and fix it. (They will most likely take it in and test the console out and put one of their memory cards in and try it), and they will try to sort out the problem. =]

Psone memory card+controller=freeze

Try using different slots for the controller and memory card. If it still doesn't work then try getting a new memory card.

My psp fell and now games from memory card are not loading

Did you try the memory card on another PSP? Or try another memory card in your PSP? If your memory card works in another PSP, then there's a problem with your memory card reader.

If you have a PSP-1001 model, it's not your motherboard but the circuit board that holds the memory cards.

If you have a PSP-2001 or PSP-3001, the memory card reader is a part of the motherboard and they are correct -- bad motherboard.

My playstation keeps saying to put in a memory card.. even though I have done

did you try reading the memory card without any game discs put in via the ps2 menu?

is your memory card working properly? could be a corrupted memory card or a faulty memory card slot.
try putting a friend's memory card on that same slot.
if it works... then your memory card is gone bad...
if it doesnt work...then your memory card slot has gone bad.

else try putting your memory card in your friend's ps2, see if that ps2 reads your memory card. if it does...then your memory card slot has gone bad.

PS2 Memory Card "Unformatted"

DNT FORMAT IT if you do then it will just unformat its self when you turn it back on i have the same problem if i was you i would try deleting some stuff off the memory card (turn the play station on with out a disk in and click on memory card) than delete some old data you dont want. but if that still dont work then try blowing in the memory card (it might be a bit old). after you have done all of these things and it still dont work then i would go on a website about sony play stations and unformating memory cards, and there will be a phone number ring it tell them whats happened and they will surly send you a new memory card but that would meen your old memory card would have to go in the bin :( its a plesure to help.

My memory card is damaged or currupted

Sadly you'll have to format your memory card, it won't be too hard to do it, just go to your memory card in the GC interface and you'll find an option to erase and format your card. It SHOULD work from then on, although some games will cause some memory cards to corrupt. If you want to be on the safe side, just purchase a new memory card, preferably the ones made by Nintendo as they're more stable than 3rd party companies for the most part. Wish you the best of luck!

Memory card

Take all the memory contents out to your computer as backup, format your memory to fat32 and put all the memory contents again to the memory from your computer. If not working try downloading the card system files from the card manufacturer site, these files are needed to run the card just like the operative system in your PC, if these files get corrupt or deleted the card wont work.
