Turning no Heat, clean filter lights on while turning

My dryer keeps turning and does not produce heat.

  • If started, the clean lint filter light comes on while the drying light is on as well (with no heat). The filter is always cleaned after every load. lately.
  • I let it rest, selected another cycle and started it and this time it stayed on the cool down cycle with the clean filter lights on. (still no heat).
  • When it is working (that is turning with no heat) all the lights on the cycle panel continue to blink at the same time at certain intervals.
  • I have checked the duct and it is not clogged. I need help and need it soon please.

I verified the proposed solution it turned out that none of it was any of the above

However, I ran the function test sequence. everything worked except whenever I turned the rotary knob for the temp setting., there was no key beep with any of the settings (HIGH, MEDIUM,LOW) except whenever I turned it to NO HEAT.

I am thinking is it something with the knob circuit or ..... Please help...

I had a no heat problem although I di not have the blicking lights you had. After I changed the control panel (a very expensive item) because the maintenance manual says so, I had no success, same problem. After reviewing the print I noticed the control thermistor. I checked the manaul again and it says if open or shorted check wiring and check thermistor for a 50 Kohm value. It does not say it has anything to do with the heating circuit. But, I pull the thermistor out and it reads 2.79 Kohm. So I set up a variable resistor to 50 Kohm and connected to the 2 leads, turned on the dryer and bingo it worked again. I have the part on order which is only a $10 item. So I lost $200 on this learning experience because they won't take back special order items. So my word of advice is that the manual does not tell you everything to check but they do tell you how to check most sensors so please do this before you change the control panel.

Usually heat element or high and low limit sensors need changing, check vent lines are not plugged or 220 breaker if split breaker is only tripped on one side?

Hello ljdixon226 - From what you have described the unit could possibly have a communication problem with the control panel. However, if the unit is not producing any heat please have a professional diagnose the heating element and the blower assembly as well. Either, or, could be faulty at this time. This is not a typical DIY job so please consult a professional.

sounds like perhaps you are losing your heating element...could be electronic, but it's most likely the actual element needs to be replaced...

There is a reminder light to "Check Lint Filter" near the lower right of the cycle knob. It will come on every time the power button is pushed. After cleaning the lint filter, if the "check lint screen" light does not go off, it is likely that the touch pad control will need replacement.

Dryer produces heat, but clothes don't dry

Sounds like the vent has a lint build up inside of it. A moister sensor detects any lint build up and keeps the heat in check. The dryer will produce very little heat this was. Clean the entire venting tubing and it shall run better for you

The dryer will not produce heat and blowing lint

check where your dryer vent goes through your outside wall they sometimes clog up with lint and cause the escaping heat to recirculate back to your dryer causing the sensor to read the dryer as too hot clear all lint from the outside vent so you can feel the air coming out very steadily and quickly If this works you are all set otherwise check your heating element

The lint light keeps coming on and shuts the dryer off so clothes are not dry. I checked the filter and it is clear. Now the bottom of filter is cracked (plastic part) so I need to replace. But why does the lint light come on now after 5 years of use? It never came on before even when the lint filter was full?

Hi the my filter light keeps flashing and iv got no heat!

My guess is that the heater element has gone out. There could also be a lint clog in the exhaust vent...it takes air out through the filter...across the heater element....and back through the tumbler to heat the clothes. This is usually what causes heat elements to go out is the excess lint that gets on them and causes them to overheat and burn out!
