Question about Canon PIXMA iP3000 InkJet Photo Printer

Ink not working properly on ip3000

I have been using non canon ink with no problem - until now. I have been having problems with the ink colors not coming out at all or coming out very faintly (magenta & yellow). I have done numerous cleanings and even tried the 7 deep cleanings that you recommended in another post to no avail. It will print fine once then start with the discolorations again. I saw another post of yours that mentioned a possible bubble of ink on the nozzle plate. How exactly would I remove the print head? Any help would be appreciated - this is making me crazy!

The yellow and magenta seem to be clogged because no ink (or next to no ink) comes out when printing or nozzle checks. I have done about 12 deep cleanings & countless reg. cleanings to no avail. Putting in canon ink didn't help. Reading similar posts I think maybe the print head is clogged. I'm not sure how to remove the print head to see if it is definetly clogged and to possibly clean the screens. Would anyone know how to remove the print head for cleaning? Thanks.

All of a sudden my blue ink stopped printing. I have cleaned and deep cleaned and had no luck. It will print once after the cleaning, but then go back to just yellow and magenta. I believe I need to remove the heads and clean the nozzles, but can't seem to find any information on that. Can anyone help me?

Canon is pretty serious when they state don't use non Canon ink. These little holes in the print head are nanometer in size an the pigment in the ink has to travel through those holes.

You, can remove the print head that I know of. I've never seen any information on Canons regarding the replacement of print heads. I think once you get some real Canon ink and run a nozzle check, then the deep cleaning three times and finally a print head alignment you should be fine,

    Does this help you?

Flahing E 5 and lights blinking on black and colored ink

Hi, the E5 means that:
The ink cartridges are
not installed[1401],
or a non-supported ink
cartridge is
installed[1485],
or the ink cartridges are
not installed
properly[1687].

Try with diferrent ink crg., Be sure to use genuine. If that doesnt help, the problem is in printer head, or logic board.

Hope that helped.

The ink cartridges are not installed [1401], or a non-supported ink cartridge is installed [1485], or the ink cartridges are not installed properly [1687].
Check if supported ink tank(s) is installed, and re-install them properly, and then close the scanning unit.

One color doesnt print

If you have a non-HP inkjet printer. The cheapest thing to do is to found a set of spent cartridges and drill 2 small holes on each. Fill them with alcohol or ink cartridge cleaner. Then you can clean the head as much as you want for free. You may need to reset the chip on some printers.

The problem is the color head cleaning on almost all cheap inkjet printers is done by creating a vacuum over the color head. It would **** all the ink out of the head regardless of the color.

IP3000

canon ip3000 & ip4000 the heads get dirty.
if you keep doing cleanings and deep cleanings it will eventually cause an error because it thinks the tank is full.
take out the head - in the sink, with warm not hot water rinse out much ink as possible. then use windex, the ammonia removes the ink. flush good - shake out head, drops will form on the bottom. keep doing it until drops are clear. rinse with water. shake out well. dry contacts.
I use a water pic as a pressure washer to force water thru. replace head and tanks.
do not use clean, instead print a page of 'X's
make every 5 rows a different color. this way you can see what is working and it won't fill up the cleaning tank, causing a code error.
you can use any ink you want as long as it is the proper type- don't have to be canon

My canon pixma /ip3000 printer isn't using the yellow ink, I have installed new ink tanks and ran clean and deep clean printer head and manually adjusted the color setting to max, did not correct problem....

Repeated deep cleaning (about 12 times) has started to get the ink flowing again, I am printing something every day and hope the problem clears up totaly.

My best guess is that you are using after market inks or re-filling them yourself.  Without know what your are using for ink and what you have already tried it's hard to give you any advise. If you are using after market ink or refills I would guess you have a bubble of ink on the bottom of the nozzle plate on the bottom of the print head caused by leaky cartridges.  If there is a bubble of ink there the print head can't spray the ink through in and just continues to  add to the big blob of ink.  Try removing the ink cartridges and then the print head and see if the nozzle plate is clean and shiny or if it is got a lot of ink sitting on it.  If it does rinse the print head with hot running tap water both inside and out until the water runs clean.  Shake the print head several time to help extract the ink while rinsing.  Just pat the head dry and don't worry that it is still wet. Don't put it in the oven to dry like some "helpfull" people have advised. The rinse water won't hurt anything.  Run a clean out or two and normally you will be back in business. Hope this helps.

Won't print black

I found a solution to the Black printing problem :)
Under Printing Preferences: Set your Media Type to Photo Paper Pro.
We used edible ink cartridges and printed onto icing sugar paper. Same old... Just one day it refused to print black. In order to continue our small business, I degraded the color until I printed gray and not black.

Tonight, I browsed for the problem and came across this :)

Hope it helps you too
