Is this a Windows log on password or a bios password?

O.k. There's a couple of different ways of doing this. 1- Enter safe mode at start up, and log in as administrator. From here you can clear any user passwords from the user accounts section. Enter safe mode by pressing F8 at start up. You may need to start pressing F8 when you first power and continue until it reaches safe mode. 2- Do a system repair with your recovery or operating system disc. The repair will reset all the operating system settings to default, but won't harm or delete any files or programs. Try these and let me know. If you still can't get past the password, I've got another way, but try these first.

Use the link below to make a bootable disc. This is a password breaker. Read the directions carefully and the disclaimer, if you run this wrong or run the wrong program, then you can damage the bios system on your machine, or completely wipe the operating system.

Hey, my name is Wesley Murphy and I'm having trouble with our Netgear g54 wireless router. We just got a lap-top and we're trying to get wireless set up on it. We do have internet, that isn't the problem....

  1. Log in to your NETGEAR router by browsing to http://www.routerlogin.net or http://www.routerlogin.com. Enter the username (admin) and password. By default, the password is password or 1234 unless it has already been changed.
  2. From the left-hand navigation menu of the Router Manager, select Set Up > Wireless Settings.

3. From the center screen, select your encryption type from under the Security Options heading.

    • If the wireless network passphrase is visible, review it and use it to log devices onto your network.
    • If it is not visible, you can change your wireless passphrase; however, changing the passphrase will cause you to lose your wireless connection. Connect your computer to the router with an Ethernet cable before entering a new passphrase into the text box and clicking Apply.
If you cannot log into your router:

Unfortunately, there is no way to recover a lost or forgotten password from a router or access point; you will need to reset the device to factory defaults. However, once the device is reset to factory defaults, you can use the default username ("admin") and password (either "password" or "1234" depending on your router) to reconfigure your router settings.

you might have put in the wrong password or user id check to make sure you have put these in correctly first make sure the caps lock is on/off what ever applies to your user and password id that you provided to your ISP
also
make sure your routers settings are correct ie:password user name, firewall settings to allow your internet to connect also test the lead/s whether usb or ethernet you might check your modem first to make sure that you are getting a connection

or

if there is a small hole in the front or back of the router push a hair pin in to reset to factory settings

hope this helps

last resort ring your ISP internet sevice provider get them to check your modem for internet access online

hope this helps

NOTE: Restoring factory defaults on a device will erase any customizations you have made. You will lose any configurations saved to the device!

Cannot install D-Link router

You may try typing admin on the username field. Just leave the password field empty.

Once you're in the setup page, click on WIRELESS tab which on the left side of the page. On the Wireless page, you will see the wireless settings set in the router. You may also enable the wireless security on that page if there is not security enabled yet.

Please check this for your reference http://support.dlink.com/Emulators/di524/h_wireless.html

Wireless router

Do you see a little monitor Icon in the lower left bottom. If so go ahead and right click on it and select wireless connections , If not open network connections, now you should see detect wireless networks, Click on that,( IF SO ) Now you should get a window that shows your wireless connections, Select the network you have by clicking on it, and then in the lower left of the window Opened you should see a connect button, select that, you should be able to go online now if not let me know, there are some other things we can try to get you up and running just write back here if it does not work and as soon as I get this I will get back to you. I am sure its nothing we can't solve. Ok thanks bear001
