the popping came from the middle crt i guess you call it

i have the back off trying to pinpoint the sound and it made

the noise to the left and above the splitter

Hello there. Just found this post and decided to ask for some assistance. I have a very similar problem with my Zenith Z56Z95D8. Recently, the picture went black...still had sound just no picture. Was told to replace the HV module board(part# 9-1674-03). As soon as I did this, the tv worked fine for a couple days. Now, to start tv I need to hold in the power button for it to turn on. When it come on there is a distinctive electric "clicking-popping" sound being made and the picture has a "electrical interference" at the same time as the sound. I can definitely trace the sound to the part where the HV module wire plugs into the bottom of what I would call a splitter block. There are (3) additional wires that go from this "splitter block" to each of the CRT's. The id sticker for this part is # A-17813-01. Is this the culprit part? What is this part called? Where to get a replacement cheap?
Hopefully this helps Hank also with his problem...sounds almost identical.
Thanks Alot for any assistance, don't have $$$$ for a new tv.
    Steve

It sounds like the flyback or the HV splitter those are the two items that will hiss. It should be coming from the area where the flyback is. thats a large transformer with a large red wire coming out of it going into a Splitter that will have 3 additional large red wires each going to the three CRts. Let me know if you need the part numbers and where to get the parts with free tech support so you can easially install them yourself.

The HV lead going into the CRT may need to be resealed. But without touching that red wire try to determine if its coming from up high on the crt or down near the circuit board of the CRT. Just dont touch the red wire alot of voltages are present in that large red wire.

I have a 2005 Pontiac that makes a hissing noise underneath the car. you can turn the car ignition on without fully starting car and it still makes hissing noise then stops.HELP!!!!!

There is a distinct sound that has a hissing component when you first turn on the key. It will last a second or two when the key is turned to the run position. When the engine started the sound will return and continue to produce the noise so long as the engine is running.

A relatively low noise is normal. If you are concerned check other like cars for the loudness level.

how to check your fuel pump

The pressure regulator on the fuel rail can also produce a sound when the fuel pump is running. The regulator is under the hood and any reasonable noise would not be a concern, A clicking sound is also normal throughout the fuel system when the engine is running created by the fuel injectors cycling.

If you locate the audio board, check for dried up electrolytic capacitors and dry joints around the output IC itself.
That should fix your fault.

Hissing sound from a Panasonic old TV...Sound and picture are OK. The hissing sound even continues when the MUTE on the Box is ON. The hissing only stops when the MUTE on the TV is ON. I am using the...

If you disconnect or power off the converter box does the hiss go away?
If you connect a VCR or DVD player does it still have the hiss? We
need to isolate what source is causing the hiss if it is from the set or
if it is from the converter box.
When you turn the volume control down on the set, does the hiss
reduce in level? If mute stops it, it should reduce in level as you
turn the volume down. Then turn up the sound level control on
the converter box whether its a manual control or by remote. If you
can get a combination that minimizes the hiss and gets higher sound
level from the programming that may cure it.
I am not familiar with the converter box you are using. Are you using
Audio/Video cables from it to the set or is it coming out with coaxial cable
and used on a channel? If you are using a very old set with a tuner input
perhaps the fine tuning is out of adjustment.
