Question about Panasonic Lands Phones

7 Answers

Panasonic KX-TG5673PK 5.8ghz phones. This post is regarding the answering machine "ANNOUNCEMENT FROM HELL"! I am totally unable to erase a previously recorded announcement. Even if I turn the base unit to "answer off" and I follow the procedure to erase the announcement, when the phone rings, the old original "ANNOUNCEMENT FROM HELL" comes on and answers the call. And this even though I have turned off the "answer on" light. If I have "answer on" the default machine message simutaneously plays TOGETHER with "the announcement from Hell". If I record my own announcement then that plays simultaneously with the old announcementas well. I think I have tried everything including disconnecting from electric power from wall and batteries for a full day but ALL TO NO AVAIL!! HOW DO I DELETE THIS ORIGINAL ANNOUNCEMENT?? HELP ME PLEASE SOMEONE. THANKS IN ADVANCE FOR ANY SUGGESTIONS OR ADVICE.

A PREVIOUSLY RECORDED ANNOUNCEMENT WHICH WILL NOT ERASE NO MATTER WHAT I HAVE TRIED. PLEASE SEE MY ORIGINAL MESSAGE. EVEN WHEN THE DEVICE IS SET TO ANSWER OFF IT STILL ANSWERS WITH THIS OLD MESSAGE AFTER 2 OR 3 RINGS.
A PERSONAL RESPONSE RATHER THAN AN AUTOMATED ONE WOULD BE APPRECIATED, AS I HAVE PAID MY FEE.

IF I WANTED TO GO TO PANASONIC FOR REPAIR I DON'T HAVE TO PAY YOU PEOPLE TO TELL ME THIS. OF COURSE I HAVE THE ORIGINAL MANUAL, AND FOLLOWED THE STEPS TO ERASE THE MESSAGE AND IT DID NOT WORK. MY BRIGHT FRIENDS....IF IT DID WHY WOULD I BE PAYING FOR A SOLUTION FROM YOU AND YOUR FELLOW EXPERTS??

  • alphatx Jul 25, 2008

THE MESSAGE THAT WON'T ERASE IS INSIDE THE ANSWERING MACHINE RECORDED BY MY WIFE.
    I AM NOT AN IDIOT.
UNPLUGING THE WALL UNIT STOPS THE UNERASEABLE ANNOUNCEMENT, AS WELL AS ALL OTHER FUNCTIONS OF THIS PANASONIC UNIT. THE PROBLEM IS IN THE PANASONIC UNIT. IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH MY LANDLINE PROVIDER. I DO NOT USE THEIR ANSWERING SERVICE.
HOW CAN I DO A FACTORY RESET????

  • alphatx Jul 25, 2008

    GOLDFLAK,
I DID THAT BUT YOU DON'T SEEM TO UNDESTAND THIS WAS RECORDED AS AN ANSERING MACHINE ANNOUNCEMENT, NOT A MESSAGE. IN ANY EVENT I TRIED DELETING ALL MESSAGES AND RECORDING OVER OLD ANNOUNCEMENT. NOTHING WORKED (PLEASE SEE AND READ MY ORIGINAL POST HERE).

After reviewing the user guide and other info at Panasonic's support site, there is no factory reset on this unit. The problem seems to be a malfunction or failure of the digital recorder for the greeting, a hardware problem. There is no simple fix for this. You will have to use your warranty service and have Panasonic or another service facilty fix the problem with your phone.

I've read the user manual and documentation of this phone model and it seems that there is no parts that you can replace with regard to the problem. Since you said you did the reset and cleared all the old recordings but the old voice is still bugging you, it would be better if you contact the vendor or the manufacturer and ask for replacement if your device is still under warranty..

Panasonic says unplug the power adapter of the unit for at least 30 minutes and that will reset your settings back to factory defaults.

good luck

I think is will be better for you to format the phone because it seems that this is a virus, so better back up all your file and clean your phoen by formatting it..

Hope that helps...........

Check that you are using your local answering machine on phone, and not a message recorded in phone provider company service. For example if you are using AT&T check that you are not using the message recorded on At&t, in tht case you need to set up service by phone.

    Flash memory is corrupted...

Messages are stored in flash memory so they're unaffected by power failure or interruptions.

Better go to the service center and they will whether they can replace the flash memory or not.............

Record message on panasonic phone

The KX-TGA101S is just the handset. The message is handled by whatever base or answering machine you have on your phone line. Please refer to the manual for the base/answering machine.

If you require further assistance, please reply to this post and specify the model of your base or answering machine.

I bought a home with the Panasonic KX-t7731 phone system installed. We have a new phone number. I am unable to set up voicemail (although voicemail answers) and I am unable to retrieve my messages. Help!

What's answering the calls, is it the Panasonic system or the central office? When you figure that out, and it's locally, then post back with the model number of your phone sytsem cabinet and whether you dial 107 or 115 ot get into voice mail, or the message is left in the central office.

On my TG 2740 Panasonic base unit the 'answer on' light blinks constantly and 'all mail box full' is blinking also but there are only 17 messages. How do I clear the blinking light and the all mail box...

If mail box is full, you cannot record any more messages, and the answering machine is practically useless. You must clear some messages.
Try playing the messages one by one. While a message is being played hit the Erase button. If that works, repeat with every unimportant message.

Most cordless telephone answering machines have a maximum of 14 minutes recording time. You can restrict the length of messages people are allowed to leave. Most default options are 1min or 4 minutes. Some machines give you the option to select Announcement Only. When this option is selected people hear the announcement but cannot leave a message.

Read you manual for more configuration options.
