After spending many hours on this issue I resolved by doing the following:
1. Followed directions re: getting Win 7 BJC-85 driver on my PC
2. Went into PRINTER PROPERTIES for the BJC-85
3. Selected PAPER/QUALITY tab
4. Selected ADVANCED
5. Under PRINTER FEATURES select PHOTO
6. Click OK

Just replaced the ink cartridge but the printer seems not recognizing it. Error is comming that to insert the ink cassete...Don't know what to do...

Was it a genuine Canon cartridge,or aftermarket? If genuine take it back for an exchange.

If not genuine, there you have it. Canon printers are known for being intolerant of non-genuine cartridges. Some will work, but it is pot luck.

Canon mg5350s u043 error

Easiest solution is to buy an original cartridge, any colour and this will normally reset, otherwise your Google the problem and you should find a solution to disable this function, but chaeck reguarly as you wont get a warning that the cartridge is empty after you disable the function

Hi their My MP530 printer reads CHECK CARTRIDGE U052, the manual does not help, can anyone help me please?

The dreaded U052 error means that the 'chip' fitted to the Cartridge is not responding .. Canon (like all printer mfgs) makes all it's profit from selling Ink .. so they fit these chips to try to prevent you refilling or using a 'compatible' replacement cartridge

You have to move the chip from the Canon cartridge to the 'compatible' and (it seems) the chips are particularly sensitive to static / damage .. many people end up blowing the chips during the swap over .. or even when fitting the original genuine cartridges to a brand new unit for the first time ...

If the unit is brand new, take it back and demand a replacement ... if you have just swapped over the chip onto a compatible cartridge, you can try buying a genuine Canon cartridge (which will have a new chip) = hopefully that will do the trick

Canon MP500 error message

If you're using Canon OEM (branded) cartridges you're going to need to ID the problem chip/cartridge so I'd try and get hold of some empty originals from somewhere (CartridgeWorld or similar perhaps?) and put those in as replacements for one cartridge at a time until you ID the problem cartridge/chip

If they're non-branded then chances are you do have more than one of the same chip but the solution is much the same...

If all else fails, take the printer to a friendly retailer who sell Canons and ask them to help you ID the problem cartridge.

Cartridge recommendations

You can purchase Canon cartridges directly from Canon here. The BC-10 is a cartridge that prints with black ink only. The BCI-10 is the replacement ink tank for this cartridge (a new cartridge comes complete with an ink tank). The BC-11e is a cartridge that prints both black and color, and has two ink tanks, the BCI-11 black and BCI-11 color. A new BC-11e cartridge comes complete with two new ink tanks.

Black Printer cartridge

It will tell you the colour is low, regardless of the format in which you are printing. I don't believe Canon provide a way for you to disable this for their printer range, so you'll need to put in the new colour cartridge to get rid of this error. (you should however, be able to print whilst receiving this message)
