My LG WM2301 was leaving blackish/brown streaks or marks on light colored clothes and I have tried all the advice I found on the web. I cleaned the washer, checked and wiped door seal, cleaned and cleared trap and and water feed and checked and cleaned water valves and screens. No difference. What worked for me was to change the interior water lines (P/Ns 5214ER4001A, 5214ER4001B (x2), 5214ER4001J, and the bellows (P/N 4738ER1004A). All parts found on Amazon. The source of the stains seems to be the degraded interior of these lines. I am not sure which is the exact culprit but a $60, 15 minute fix (just 10 hose clips) and all is clear.
My LG is putting black marks, looks like oil, on washing. I've cleaned the machine with CLR and all is good for a bit then it comes back again. I don't use fabric softener but I do use a liquid detergent. I'm really thinking of buying a new machine!!!
I have a LG front load washer. It intermittently puts black streaks on mainly white clothes. It is just more noticeable on white clothes. The problem with this washer is that dirt collects in and around the rubber seal that goes around the door. When the drum turns clothes get caught in the seal and that is when you get the dirt streaks. However, I have extensively cleaned the seal and area around the seal and the load of wash right after the cleaning still gets dirt streaks. It is a poorly designed rubber seal.
I have another front load washer at another residence and I never get dirt streaks because that sela never accumlates any dirt.
This is usually to do with fabric softener. Dilute it with more water. The fabric softener makes clots, and these make the marks on your clothing.
Hope it helps
