Question about Sony Playstation 3 (PS3) Console

Playstation 3 problem

My Ps3 started to not show any video for some reason after I moved it from my SD to my HDTV. When I moved it back to the SD tv it still wouldnt show any video. I used every cable (HDMI, Composite, component) and still nothing. It turns on and accepts disks and everything, but when I try to turn it off it beeps three times, so you have to hold the power for an extra ten seconds until it returns to standby. And I have done the reset where you hold the power when its on standby for two beeps and the screen flickers but still no picture.

This pretty much explains what is going on

Try holding the power down for 10 seconds while the red standby light is on. It will beep a couple of times. It should reset your video display settings.

Tv and ps3 plugged in and on. av channel shows an empty screen

Follow these steps to resolve your problem:

1. Turn off the PS3 so it only shows a red light. You can hold the power button on the front until it goes into standby. To be sure, flick the power switch on the back of the Play Station 3 off and then back on.

2. Make sure your Play Station 3 is connected to your regular TV (not HDTV) with the standard video cables.

3. Press and hold the power button until the screen "flickers" and then immediately release. This should reset the video settings.

4. Wait a few seconds, and the Play Station 3 (PS3) logo should appear.

Please try the following steps to solve your PS3 problem :
Step 1. Turn the PS3 off into standby (red light on)
Step 2. Press and hold the power button. It will beep as soon as you press it and then about 5 seconds later it will beep again. Let go of the power button when you hear this second beep.

Yellow light on console unable to start console.

First the Reason for Yellow Light

If the hard-drive fails on the PS3 you may get a solid yellow led, The yellow light will show if the console is overheating as well, but the console shuts down so you don't it for long.

1)Turn off your playstation 3. If you think your ps3 has been caught by the heat, then wait at least 20 minutes and put it back on again

2) Check if there's any loose cable.

3) Try to put out your playstation's hard-drive, and put it back in. You might want to repeat this 2-3 times for better results.

If this did not work, then it is suggested to send your PS3 for repairs to Sony Customer Support

Ps3 broken

When you attach your Play Station 3 to an HD TV through an HDMI port, the Play Station 3 will ask you if you wish to switch to HD Mode.

However, if you decide to move it to another TV that is not HD compatible, you will get no picture because the Play Station 3 is “stuck” in HD (HDMI) mode.

If this does not resolve the problem, follow these steps:

3. Press and hold the power button on the front until the Play Station 3 beeps and then turns off again. This should reset the video for you and you can turn it back on after this.

That’s it! You can play your Play Station 3 again!
