Hi, W/D here.
Ovens just love for you to use the self cleaning feature on them. This gives them all kinds of excuses to lock up, fail components and have other components become "unpredictable". Self cleaning takes the oven to extremely high temperatures to incinerate the baking residue. This also uses a high amount of energy. My best advice is to clean the oven with the spray cleaner whenever possible, and to avoid the self cleaning feature altogether. Use normal precautions with the spray, following the directions on the can. This will do the job just as well, and takes much less time. Just make sure that the product that you use says "safe for self cleaning ovens", and you'll be fine.
Best regards, --W/D--
