I am experiencing vertical streaks. I have performed the "eliminate light stripes" maintenance procedure
multiple times. I have turned the printer off for over a day and then restarted the process. I have sent postscript files to the printer to try clear the blocked jets. But, when I print a test page the same three magenta printhead jets always remain blank. I contacted my local Xerox Sales Partner and described the condition. Over the phone he diagnosed the problem as a bad printhead. He quoted ~$700 for the printhead plus the service call. All-in-all the cost approaches $1000. At this price, a new printer appears to be a better value. Any suggestions?

What problem or fault code are you experiencing?
I also am assuming you don't have a maintenance agreement on the machine?
I can tell you in detail how to replace that print head. It really isn't that difficult. Just a bit time consuming. I would guess an hour and a half .
But lets start with whats going on with the printer .Maybe it can be fixed much easier and far less expensively. That print head is $450 wholesale. SOooooooooo lets see if we can get it fixed for you without a print head ok.

2. On the Tools menu, touch the down arrow to scroll through the options, and then touch Align Printer.
3. Follow the instruction on the screen.

Brother MFC 210C Machine error 41

Error 41 refers to the printheads which is a common problem with Brother machines. The printheads will need to be replaced. On some machines, Brother has extended the warranty to cover printheads because of the excessive failure rate. Contact Brother to see if you qualify and they may send you new printheads along with easy instructions to replace them. Also please rate this solution with a fixya rating. Thanks!

Printhead needs replacing

The printhead is completely user replaceable and need no complicated instructions.

1. Remove the ink ribbon.
2. Looking from above, find a small shiny lever to the right of the printhead.
3. Lift the lever with your hand and remove the printhead by pulling it upwards (make sure the printer is cold).
4. Reverse the procedure to install the new printhead.

Be blessed.

HP Officejet d145 print head problem

Did you replace the PRINTHEAD, or did you replace the INK CARTRIDGE? They are not the same on the D145.

Good chance that you may have replaced the ink cartridge, not the magenta PRINTHEAD which sits under the ink cartridge.

PS - in my experience, non-HP ink cartridges clog up HP printers with separate printhead mechanisms... any possibility here?

Good luck!

Phaser 8550 error 19,004.40

The printhead was installed in another machine and the codes do not match. You need to manually sync them. Here is the procedure:

Manually synchronize the Printhead and Electronics Module codes.
NOTE: The Printhead and Electronics Module codes should synchronize automatically when a new printhead is installed. If a 19,004.40 error occurs, it is possible that the replacement printhead was previously installed in a different printer. After manually synchronizing the Printhead and Electronics Module codes, be sure to test the new printhead for print quality defects.
To manually synchronize the codes;
1). Power OFF the printer.
2). Disconnect the printer from external devices (A/C power can remain connected).
3). Locate the "Factory Only" port on the electronics module (located between the PS and PE lights (Figure 1).
4). Use a Hard Disk Drive (HDD) jumper (Figure 2) to short the top two pins.
NOTE - If a HDD jumper is not available, use another conductive item, such as a screwdriver, to short the pins. Use caution to avoid contacting the surrounding frame, as this may permanently damage the Electronics Module.
5). With pins shorted, power ON the printer.
6). When printer reaches the mechanical initialization stage of the power on sequence, power the machine back OFF.
7). Remove the HDD jumper.
8). Code should now be synchronized. Power ON machine and verify the 19,004.40 error does not re-occur.
NOTE - If error persists after this procedure, attempt the procedure again, and be sure to allow the printer to complete its BIST and POST test before powering OFF in step 6.

Lexmark Colour C752 108 service printhead error

You are correct, Below is that section from the manual. Before you follow this, i've found in the past that the cable connector is not seated properly on the rip board, so check this first.
If you require any of the instructions on replacing the printhead or board let me know.

Yellow Printhead Lost Hsync
Check for the correct installation of the all the cables to the RIP
Board assembly and to the Printhead assembly; J2, J3, and J4 on
the RIP Board. Go to “RIP Board” on page 5-11. If the cables are
connected correctly to the RIP Board and to the Printhead
assembly, replace the following FRU:
“RIP Board” on page 4-11
If this does not fix the problem replace:
Yellow Printhead Assembly - Go to “Printheads” on page 4-33.
Note: Whenever a printhead assembly is replaced, it is necessary
to perform the “Printhead Adjustments” on page 4-1.
