Question about Washing Machines

1 Answer

Washing machine fills with water when not in use.

The drum of the washing machine slowly fills with water when not in use. Although the drain cycle can remove the water to allow me to use the machine, I would prefer to fix it in case I forget to drain it first before opening the door!

The machine works fine in normal use, and drains water normally when the wash cycle finishes.

I do not have a manual for this product, as it came with the house. Can anyone help me fix this? Model indesit wg1034t

You have an open solenoid on your water valve where the fill hoses connect. Change the water valve and you should be good.

Bosch washing machine fills with water throughout any cycle

Just a guess but could the fill valve be defective, not shutting off completely when it should?

The washer fills slowly with water when not in use. It drains without any problem when drain/spin cycle is used.

Most likely the water inlet valves on your washing machine have failed. You may have noticed larger amounts of water in the clothes drum when the washing machine hasn't been used for a few days, this is because the valves may still be open allowing water to drip into the clothes drum.

Here is a link to the part that you need to buy: http://www.appliancepartspros.com/Appliance-Parts/WHIRLPOOL-Washer-water-inlet-valve--universal-item-number-AP3098982.aspx.

And a link to a video showing you how to replace the part: http://www.ultimatehandyman.org/video/appliance_repair/water-inlet-valve.php
Hope this helps!

Have whirlpool LSR7233B top load washer. It fills and agaites but will not drain all the way and spins slowly on slowly on spin cycle

THE BELT THAT DRIVES THE DRUM MIGHT BE WORN, THE BELT IS NOT UNDER A LOT OF STRAIN WHEN WASHING AND MAY WORK FINE BUT WHEN IT GOES INTO THE SPIN CYCLE THE WEIGHT OF THE CLOTHES AND THE WATER WILL CAUSE THE BELT TO SLIP . I WOULD START THERE FIRST

After water drains, it slowly comes back and fills in the drum over time.

Use the attached video to show you how to access the inside of the machine.Ignore the other parts other than access and re-assemly.

Washing machine fills with water when not in use.

Either your pressure in the main line bringing water to your machine is insufficient; or your intake water valve is defective; which you can replace easily.

WF860 drum filling with water

Normally I would think that the problem is with the drain system (faulty pump or clogged lines), but you told me that also "When the washing machine is not bein.g used the drum slowly starts to fill with water!!" therefor I think it can be a dafective inlet valve or a faulty control assembly.
In either case, you will need a technician to fix this.
