Thank You..& YES... Those ARE the kind of speakers I have.

I wasn't being rude,I was just stating that you asked me to clarify and didn't answer back.

I DO appreciate your help and you have answered a couple of my questions.

    Last one ,I promise ; ].

There IS a WHITE cord coming out of the speakers socket which I believe is for the power adapter,but....

    There is No adapter.

There is a WHITE cord with two connecton(1 on each end) as if I were to plug them into something.

Obviously one is for the spakers, but, the other?

If so, I was wondering what kind of adapter I'll be needing or if I can go to Radio Shack or Best Buy; Will they be able to help me?

I'd really appreciate your thoughts on this and like I said before.

You've REALLY been a great help so far.

If these are your speakers, then the green cable goes to the green sound plug behind the pc, from the looks of it the speakers also have a microphone cable, that goes in to the line in or microphone in, so blue or pink behind the computer, which ever you prefer.

also if there is a power cable that goes into the wall socket and the other end goes into the speakers, if it doesn't fit into the speakers you got the wrong cable or your missing a power adapter.

Sorry but we do not get paid at all for answering free problems that are posted on the forum.

neither we are not paid by the hour.

What kind of adapter you don't have?

  • Ekse Jul 26, 2008

Hmm, other is speakers and other is microphone? Im not sure since I can't see it.

    Could you take a picture?

Theres a send image button in this page,

    That would help.

Found another picture of your speakers

  • Ekse Jul 26, 2008

without seeing the back of the speakers I can only guess, that the cable in the middle might be used to transfer power from the first speaker to the 2nd one.

Other than that I have no idea what it would be used for. It does look like a power connector.

Where can i find my platinum jbl series speakers driver? my monitor is compaq v7550..thx a lot if u able to help me..

> where can I find ...

Nowhere -- speakers are electro-mechanical devices -- accept electrical power and move the speaker-cone, to create air-waves which your ear interprets as sounds.

They are not electronic devices that require software and device-drivers to make them work.

What is the polarity of the jbl platinum series speakers

Speakers don't really have Polarity ... they have Phase. The audiophile wants the speaker cone acting in the same direction not opposite directions. So, watch your wire - one conductor will have a rib on it, the other smooth. You pick which you want to hook to the red or the + or what the mark is on your devices pick the other conductor for the other side, black or - or what ever matches.

Make sense???

Video upload....

well, the connector that comes from the 2nd speaker goes into the speaker port in the back of the first speaker.

The wierd cord possibly fits into the 12v dc slot in the back.. and the other end would go to a power adapter..

Seems you are missing a power adapter,, like you said earlyer.

Basically you would need a standard power adapter which fits into the speaker.

You could get some universal power adapter for it like

something to this direction

If you want to make sure you get the right kind of power apdater
Try contacting jbl directly

I was looking around ebay, found this

Theres the power adapter in the middle, I think the odd cord goes to the back of the first speaker and the other end would go to a power adapter.. try contacting jbl they should be able to get you what you need.

Seems you have everything else you need except for the power adapter.

Compaq JBL Platinum Series speakers

Make sure that you got 12v 1.0 A adapter. Not .01 A. They have one at atrix DVCPA1AA power adapter-12v 1.0 A. you should not need drivers for speakers. Make sure you got it pluged into right port if you got the adapter. Also make sure under control panel under sound that you got it setup for two speakers.
