Question about Whirlpool Dishwashers

MODEL# GU2400XTPB1 DISHWASHER WILL NOT START, SHOWS BLINKING CLEAN LIGHT THAT WILL NOT CLEAR.

There is power to the unit (The green clean button is continuously blinking). If you try to put the unit through a normal cycle, it will not respond because it thinks it's clean. Normally when it finishes the cycle, the clean light stays on continuously until you empty the unit and relatch the door. Now the clean light is blinking and it will not clear. I tested the two micro-switches on the door latch and they both work. I thought the control board might be bad. I did not know what would cause the clean light to blink. I've never seen this before. What does a blinking clean light mean?

I have a Whirlpool dishwasher Model# GU2400XTPB1. Normally after the wash cycle finishes the "clean" light stays lit until you empty it and relatch the door. The light then goes out. The light is now continuously blinking, and no matter what mode you put it in, it will not initiate a wash cycle. The "clean" light will not stop blinking. Does the DDC control board have to be changed? If so what part # do I order? If it is something else please advise.
    Thank you,
    Rick M

Personally I can not help you with a specific advice. Neither can others, I see (so far).

Just try the on-line service link to Sears. Maybe there is information or technical assistance available there !

Try any of the following Sears links :

It doesn't work at all If your dishwasher doesn't work at all, check these:

Power from the house
Door switch
Wiring
Timer or selector switch
Power from the house Is there power getting to the dishwasher? This can be difficult to test, because dishwashers are usually wired directly to an electrical circuit, rather than plugged into the wall. But at least check for a blown fuse or a tripped circuit breaker.

Door switch The door switch is important because, if it's defective, the dishwasher won't work at all. To reach it, you need to remove the control panel cover, or sometimes the interior liner of the door. If it's defective, you need to completely replace it.

Wiring Often the main wiring connection from the house, at the dishwasher, burns and breaks the connection. If that's the problem, the wires must be repaired/replaced as necessary. If that's not the problem, check the wiring to the door switch, the wiring between the door and the lower part of the dishwasher, and the wiring to the timer. Repair any broken, burned, brittle, or defective wiring, using the proper appliance-grade wire and connectors.

Timer or selector switch Although it's uncommon, the timer or the selector switch may be defective. If so, you need to replace the defective part, because neither of these can be repaired.

Blinking clean light, possibly cleaning required or automatic cleaning in progress?

I am locked out of cycle with clean light blinking green and cannot find my manual, dishwasher is about 1 year old. Is there a sequence to break this cycle? I turned off power for 60 seconds to no avail.

Hi
I have not seen this model in Australia, but normally if you hold down "Start/Stop" button for 3 to 5 seconds, that should clear the cycle.
Otherwise if you have a Clear button press that for 3-5 seconds.

Blinking clean light

Hi,

This blinking indicates a failure to properly heat the water, the link below will have instructions on how to reset the control so you can use the dishwasher and it will provide areas to look as to why it failed. Let me know if it was helpful.

Have a brand new maytag dishwasher. When the cycle is finished the clean light stays on and I have to push buttons to clear is this normal?

If you open the door after the cycle, does it clear the display? Mine is a different maytag model, and when it's done it shows the display as clean. The display will go blank when I open the door manually... let me know if that helps.

Whirlpool from ikea DWF415

hazman, depending on your serial number, this model has a bunch of service issues. Everything from the motor rework to the heating element. Sounds like your issue has to do with the heating element. If the dishwasher does not detect a 4 degrees temp. rise in the water in will go into this fault. They have redesigned the board to bypass this fault in later models. Since I don't have a serial number I can't tell if you have one of the affected models, but I assume so. I would call Whirlpool and inquire about any service flashes they have on this dishwasher, you may be covered. Otherwise you would have to do some tests to determine the cause, starting with the heating element. I believe you can clear the fault by pressing these keys in this order: high temp-air dry-high temp-air dry. four key presses...this should put it in the automatic test mode. Let it do it's thing and the fault should clear. For more info on your dishwasher there should be a tech sheet behind the bottom toe panel....Catriver..post back.
