Unless you really need it, I'd just ditch Windows Live Mail. Give yourself a direct link to your online mail page. If you need a mail client, try Mozilla Thunderbird.

Site live.com cannot be found

Windows Live is a group of services offered by Microsoft on the Internet and through mobile Web browsers. Users can sign up for Windows Live and access all of the services, including a calendar, messenger, social groups and parental controls. When signing up for Windows Live, new users can choose to create a free Live.com email address.

Navigate to the Windows Live sign-up page. https://accountservices.passport.net/reg.srf?bk=1245529554&cru=http://login.live.com/login.srf&sl=1&vv=650&lc=1033 Type a screen name in the "Windows Live ID" box and click "Check Availability" to see if the name is in use. Choose the name carefully as this will be your email address. Choose "live.com" in the drop-down menu next to the "Windows Live ID" box. Fill Out the rest of the information on the sign-up page and click "I Accept" to complete the registration of your live.com email address. Click "Mail" on your profile page to access your new live.com email account. Hope this helps.

HOW DOES ONE FIND E-MAIL INSTRUCTIONS. SENDING, RECEIVING.

It depends on what you need; if you want a general tutorial on email, try: http://www.gcflearnfree.org/computer/topic.aspx?id=19.
If you just want simple, web based email, go to: http://login.live.com/login.srf?wa=wsignin1.0&rpsnv=11&ct=1273529003&rver=6.0.5285.0&wp=MBI&wreply=http://mail.live.com/default.aspx&lc=1033&id=64855&mkt=en-us and follow the instructions
If you need a mail program. A very easy to use email program is Windows Live. Go to:http://download.live.com/, click on "download and follow the instructions. Once you install the program and start it the first time, it will ask you for your email address and password. The rest is easy.
If you need instructions for a specific program, ie. Outlook or Outlook Express, resubmit the question and mention the specific program.

The ZIP code consists of a series of digits that are added to a postal address. The ZIP code is used to identify each postal delivery area for the purpose of sorting mail.) or postal code ( A series of letters and/or digits that are added to a postal address and used by the postal service for the purpose of sorting mail.) if you’re prompted to do so. In the Question area in the Secret Answer box, type your answer to the question.
  5. Click Continue.
  6. Enter and confirm a new password, and then click Continue.
  7. If prompted, enter an alternate e-mail address (An alternate e-mail address is a secondary e-mail address registered with your Windows Live ID credentials. I have been using windows live mail for several months for two email accounts. My hotmail account works fine but for my second westnet account (www.westnet.com.au) i am able to recieve email but unable to...

G'day,

All of the documentation on the westnet.com.au site shows that your "Outgoing mail server" should be set to "mail.westnet.com.au", not "mail.wn.com.au". Please check both of your accounts in Windows Live.

If this doesn't fix your proble, could you please repost the settings for your two accounts so that I can compare them?
