Yes thats easy to fix.
Unplug the machine, unplug the connector fromt\ the document feeder to the scanner. One white molex connector with 2 thumb screws on back.
Lift the document feeder up and out, and lay it upside down on a table or work surface.
On the bottom side you will see a shiney white strip about 12 inches long and 2 inches wide, it has 2 holes, one on each end to access a couple of screws. Just remove it from one side, just held on with two sided tape. Then roll it back. Under there you will see I think 4 maybe 5 small black plastic rollers. They are held in with one screw attached to a small metal bracket. Remove the screws and plates for all the rollers, remove the rollers and take them off the shafts. Clean and very lightly lubricate those small metal shafts, and reinstall the rollers, etc. The white strip will stick back to the side you peeled it off of.
Those rollers are where the noise is coming from.

Will not manually feed paper

Are you talking about the document feeder or the copier. On both counts try to clean the rubber wheels above the feed tray, or up on the document feeder with something like windex or a water cleaner. make sure the wheels are dry, and watch to see if the wheels are turning. If wheels are turning when you feed you need new wheels, sometimes you can rough them up with a grit nail file, or sandpaper.

Hello,
It can be the problem in sensor flapper on ADF tray ( small nose that is pointing out ). Maybe it doesn't works fine or in the middle of the copy from adf the paper is too far away from the sensor.
Also can be the problem of ADF pickup clutch or You are using unappropriate paper type- try with normal A4 80g/m as original to copy from adf.

Hope that something of this helps You!

Could be a sensor in the ADF, or the hinge on the left rear of the scanner cover is broken.

I have had this problem before and found that certain types of papers cause this. Can you try some different paper you may have lying around and try that? Post back with the results.

Canon NP 6050 Paper Feeder won't feed

Seems the wheels on the left side of the feeder maybe slipped or something, I turned them 1/2 way over so the gray rubber part shows, then they were able to grip the paper and feed it into the copier. That worked for a little while, then it did it again, I turned them again and it worked. Maybe I just need to make sure they have a little traction to solve the problem. Thanks for your website.

Lexmark x7550 document feeder not taking pages of document for fax

Try cleaning the Feeder wheels that feed the paper in. Use a Dry cloth to wipe away paper fibers. They can cause the printer not to be able to grab the paper.

top feeder for the scanner (on my x6570) had a loose piece of rubber stuck between the feed wheels. The rubber is part of the guiding mechanism that guides the paper to the feed wheels. Remove rubber strip and reattach it where it belongs.
