I have a Sony CDX-M800 Car Reciever that flips down. The lights went out when it flips down. I can push the buttons and it responds but there is no lights to show what I'm selecting.

The problem with you radio is the ribbon cable,this part connects the face to the main board.you get it from pacparts.com
parts number is 168795211
you can try to replace it by you own,just becareful with the front button because they may fall dow when you open the face.
JUST PRESS THE RESET BUTTON
IF THIS DOSNT WORK CHECK THAT THE PLUG WIRES ARE SECURE I HAD THIS PROBLEM LAST YEAR AND IT TURNED OUT THAT ID UNPLUGGED THE STEREO BUT AS I RECONNECTED IT THE PIN HAD PUSHED THE CONNECTOR AWAY SO SOMETIMES IT WORKED OTHER TIMES IT DIDNT WHEN I HIT A BUMP IT WOULD MAKE THE CONNECTION BREAK
