I don't understand why I only sound out of my subwoofer, but nothing out of the speakers. There are 6 different colors in the back and I matched the green with the green, but the black one that came with the speakers I am not sure if it goes in the mic or the music on the actual control. I also don't know what to hit when the sound manager comes up on the computer.

I am unable to activate my speakers - after accessing sounds via the control panel the volume control is greyed out. The speakers are correctly connected

So we're talking about a PC here, right?

Perhaps you could fill in some details as everything is software-controlled. Can you access your soundcard controls? It probably overrides the basic system stuff.

No sound

Hello endow1, hi, try this test, unplug you Logitech audio in plug and touch the input, you should hear a humming sound, Adjust the volume settings to high to hear it. If you cannot hear the humming sound, then there are problems you need to check. Place you speakers near your ear and adjust the volume Up and Down, you may hear a soft hum that should go up and down. Absence of the hum means that the speaker has loose connection from amplifier to speaker driver, or loss of power, check to see if there is pilot light.

How do I install logitec speakers for surround sound home theater

That depends on how they are connected and what is their source. In essence all you need to do is to connect some wires and plug in some cables.
But the ones  from X-140 are just 2 so surround - for which you need 5+1 - is out of the question.

Did you try the black plug? Also, look at the right hand side of the tray and see if you have a Speaker icon. And if you do have a speaker icon, make sure that your sound is not muted.
