That message is actually the virus. If you have a finger drive or can get online from another computer and burn a CD, here's what you'll want to download. AVG Free. The new version is a little more bloated than it's previous release but it still works great. Also get Spybot S&D, Ccleaner, then get stinger.exe.

First run Ccleaner. Just open and hit run cleaner. Then run stinger in safe mode. (F8 during boot) It's a stand alone so it doesn't have to be installed. Just open it and hit scan.

After than scan, install spybot and scan with it. You can't get online so the update will fail but don't worry. Scan anyways and make sure you hit fix selected problems.

Next click start then run. Type msconfig then hit ok. On the startup tab hit disable all. Then apply and ok. Restart the pc normally. disconnect the internet cable first.

Ignore all messages and install AVG. Again it won't update but it's cool for now. Just install and scan the entire computer.

The cleaner and 3 scanners should have gotten all the bugs out. If so it would be safe not to plug the internet back in and update spybot and AVG. Use all 4 programs once a week.

If it didn't get all the bugs out, the infection is too deep and your computer needs to be completely erased and reinstalled from scratch.

I am trying to get to an anti spyware website to download the spy ware to check my computer i can not get to the site although my main computer i can get to it, so i know it is up and working.

You likely have spyware which is blocking your ability to connect to a site that will help you remove it. A lot of todays Spyware and Malware is programmed to identify and block your attempts to remove it. Try downloading Microsoft's Security Essentials (free) or other free Spyware Removal program onto your main computer and saving it to a CDROM, Flash Drive or other media you can use to install and run the application on your infected PC. DO NOT DO A SYSTEM RESTORE. If the malware is blocking your ability to remove it, A system restore will likely not have any effect. Once you have been able to execute a removal software on your computer and have eliminated the threats, then only do a system restore if you have a restore point that you are certain is prior to when the infection occured.

Hope this helps FixYa. If you find this information helpful, please take a moment and leave us some positive feedback.

How to make your computer work faster

  1. Eliminate computer viruses as well as spyware. In many cases, viruses and spyware programs cause computers to run slowly. This is the reason that you can't overestimate the necessity of programs that combat viruses and spyware.

If you do not install them, your computer will be more likely to experience one of many possible problems with its performance.

Run these software programs regularly so that viruses and spyware can be immediately detected and removed from your system. Also, make sure that these programs are always up to date so that your computer is protected from the latest versions of viruses and spyware.
  2. Step 2Clean the registry. Computer start up and shutdown processes become sluggish if the registry becomes corrupted. To make your computer run faster, its registry needs to be kept clean using registry cleaners that can be downloaded from the Internet.
  3. Step 3Defrag your desktop computer. Defragmenting or defragging the hard drive of your computer regularly can make a huge difference in its speed. This will fix performance malfunctions, which are often the result of fragmentation in the operating system.

To defrag the hard drive, access the Disk Defragmenter program in the Start menu.
  4. Step 4Remove temporary files from your computer. Every time you use your computer, it stores temporary files in your hard drive. And once the hard drive is cluttered with many temporary files, your computer speed will surely be affected. Delete the files by going into the Start menu and opening up the Disk Cleanup application.

this is definetly a virus or a spyware......i suggest you to use kaspersky internet security 7.0.1.325 antirus.....you just unistall norton and use this.....as till date this has highest detection rate of antivirus.....mostly your problem will be solved with this....by just scanning with this antivirus your virus or spyware will be detected.....but i suggest to use spyware doctor software separately for spyware......some spyware will not be detected by kaspersky itself.....but dont worry....if you scan with spyware doctor software....your spyware will be detected 100% by spyware doctor.....but please before scanning using both....please update both kaspersky and spyware doctor software.....otherwise it will not be detected.....you can use both simultaneously......no problem will come......i am a software engineer and i have experience in this.....thats why suggesting this idea.....try this...this will 100% solve your problem....

Trend Micro Antivirus/Vista Antivirus 2008

Hello there.

Unfortunately you have been infected, by the software called "Vista Antivirus 2008". What this software does is infect you, then prompt you to pay to remove the infection that it installed. So it is a scam.

What i would recommend is use the uninstall instructions from here http://www.windowsvistaplace.com/xp-antivirus-2008-removal-instructions-xp-antivirus-2008/spyware-removal

This will remove the infection (and others) from your system.

Once you have completed the steps, be sure to try an online scanner such as housecall here http://housecall.trendmicro.com/
This will not conflict with your already-installed Trend Micro software, it mearly runs through your web browser.

On that note, Internet Explorer is not very safe for browsing the Internet with, i would recommend either Firefox or Opera for a safer/better browsing experience.

Hope this helps.

I am assuming you are running windows.
Make sure you are running an antivirus program as well as anti spyware program like 'windows defender' . Run complete scans with both antivirus and antispyware delete any virus or spyware detected by both programs and check/compare the difference.
I hope it helped!
