Question about HP Compaq WF1907 Monitor

1 Answer

Dead Monitor Hi, I bought my parents an HP computer for Christmas and now, only 7 months later, the monitor stopped working. w1907 monitor. I've read some comments on here but don't understand what the solutions are saying. I don't know anything about inverters etc. Can a monitor be fixed or replaced since it's only 7 months old? I think that's an extremely short lifespan for a monitor, especially since it's used only a few times a week for short times. Thank you

Nevermind. I already took care of it and HP is replacing the monitor.

I do not what type of inverter you have is it true wave? some inverters are cheep as they are not a true waves and they do effect the life of the Tv/Computers, etc. Tv still covered take it back and do not tell them that you connected it to inverter

I found a tablet pc settings option in my control panel on windows 7 pro and it reports that my hp w1907 can be used with pen input. Is there something I need to install to allow this? It doesn't...

The pen input is not available on the HP W1907 monitor. I have three of them and Win 7 tells me the same thing but there is no firmware in this monitor that supports pen input. There are other models that HP puts out that do and the driver is the same so the option appears in Win 7 by default. Sorry to give bad news. (trust me, I was excited at first followed by the Aw ****!)

I have an hp w1907 monitor i start up puter and after about 15 miniuts the monitor goes black i turn the monitor off and about 5 minutes later i turn it back on and works fine for about another 15 minutes

You could have a faulty inverter board. The inverter supplies high voltage to the CCFL lamp/s, these lamps are mini fluro tubes approx 1,5mm dia. and the length of the screen.
Check the inverter output/inverter board and you maybe able to get parts from
www.lcdparts.net

How do you clean the monitor?

You can buy specific kits for cleaning flat panel displays at either your local computer store or most electronic stores that sell accessories for computers. Read the instructions carefully to ensure that you don't spray any fluid onto areas that should not be made wet.

If it was working fine why install additional software? Try booting into safe mode and uninstalling the software or drivers.
