Replacing an LCD screen is not easy, and if you're not careful, you can damage delicate components inside your computer.

If you've got more guts than money :), here are Dells instructions on how to do it.

Good luck!

NOT a Dell Inspiron One 19 Service Manual, but may help you in disassembling yours, to replace the LCD screen,

http://www.dell.com/support/troubleshooting/us/en/19/Product/inspiron-one-2305

With this style, as most all-in-one desktops; you have to remove the Stand, Back Cover, etc, to get to the Display Bezel. Then screws are removed around the Display Bezel, and access to the LCD screen.

You NEED to wear an ESD wrist strap, and connect it to a good ground source. Average cost is $3 to $6.

Dell Sceen I have a Dell 1525 Laptop the screen got cracked to day. Looked up screen, 1280 x 800 resolution, do not know which vga/wxvga etc I need to buy to replace. Dell show it as being a Y599 screen....

justinbur167 it's a WXGA screen. I don't know if yours is Glossy, or a Matte finish.

This is one example,

http://www.laptopscreen1.com/ls1-froogle.shtml?brand=Dell&family=Inspiron&screen=1525&size=15.4&res=WXGA&backlight=1+CCFL

Here is another example,

http://www.laptopscreen.com/English/model/Dell/INSPIRON~1525/

You'll note that offerings list With Inverter, and Without, also Glossy, or Matte finish.

[An LCD screen cannot produce enough light by itself. A Backlight is used to provide the additional needed light source.

A Backlight is a CCFL.
Cold Cathode Fluorescent Lamp.
Similar to Fluorescent lighting used in homes, and businesses, but on a Much smaller scale.

An Inverter is used to invert power from the laptop, for the LCD screen, and the Backlight ]

This is the Service Manual for the Inspiron 1525 Notebook PC, (Free),

http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/systems/ins1525/en/SM/index.htm

Clicking on Display at the bottom of the first column, will provide information in replacing the LCD screen.
For any additional questions please post in a Comment.

Dell Inspiron 1545 Model No: PP41L Dropped my laptop yesterday, I know the screen is broken and need to get a replacement. I have been looking on eBay for one and there are many for sale, but how do I...

If you take the screen out and flip it over, on the back you should see a part number for your particular screen " go by that " that way it insures you get the right part, and if you are still not sure, send the information in the form of a question to the seller to get an answer.

How big is hd?

Hi,

High-definition television (or HDTV) is a standard with higher resolution than normal T.V.

High-definition refers to any video system of resolutions of 1280×720 (720p) or 1920×1080 (1080i or 1080p).

Your Dell Inspiron 1525 PC Notebook has a 15.4-inch WXGA (1280 x 800) CCFL TrueLife (glossy) screen.

You will be happy to know that your screen is a HD screen!

I will look forward to your feedback and positive rating.
