Cant figure out how dryer belt goes around pully and moter

The other pulley is spring loaded it puts tension on the belt.
Pull the pulley back and the belt will slip ight over then release the tension pulley and your done!

It sounds like you have a bad or broken belt tensioner. It is located in the bottom of the unit close to the motor . It is a spring loaded pully assembly which keeps the belt taught. The belt simply goes around the drum and the motor shaft and the belt tensioner pully.

remove 2 screws at filter. use a screw driver and pop hood from front. remove 2 screws at top front on inside and remove front of dryer. roller wheels are easy to repalce. place belt around drum. idler pully fits in slot just beloew moter pully. check its position while you have drum out, that way you know where it goes or you can actually put it in tis place bfore installing drum. helpful hint, after putting drum in place, reach your hand back to the right side roller wheel and pull it slightly forward. last put the belt on the idler pulley. go over the top of the pulley from right to left and then under and around motor pulley. it will only go on one way , the other will be obviously wrong. good luck.

1 remove top and front of dryer shell
2 belt goes around drum around motor pully then under tentioner wheel
3 replace front and top of dryer
(top pops off use a slotted screw driver)

With the belt and idler pulley in place, it should look like this...

You must pop off the top of the dryer then remove the front after the front is off you can remove drum .
The belt goes around the drum and the motor pully and under the tentioner wheel after you get belt on replace front and top.

The belt goes around the pully so that the pully tension takes the slack out of the belt. Just like the serpentine belt on your car.
