Hello, I dropped my toshiba satelliet m305-S4910 and the screened change now has a pinkish tint to it. If I move the screen back and forth, it changes back to normal. Is there a way to fix this?

Toshiba satellite m305-s4910 flickering toolbar

My M305-S4910 was doing the same thing. After some research, I replaced the video cable. The flickering was not as bad, but still there. I just replaced the inverter, and the pink line beneath the toolbar is now gone and so is the flickering. :-)

the bios is the operating system in the chip attached to the mother board
It is the primary system that gets the computer working (turns on all of the right electronic switches so to speak to boot up and power on)
It never needs up dating and the confusion is caused by the updating references to the operating systems ( win xp, 7 8 vista etc) which are not the bios

Have a satellite m305-s4910. Screen was very dark, except normal when open only a few inches. Took cover off screen. If I move a bundle of wires wrapped in black tape at the bottom left side of the screen...

Seems that you have a faulty LCD cable. The LCD cable transfers data signal from the motherboard & video card to the LCD screen. It also supplies high voltage DC power to the screen inverter board. The screen inverter board works as a power supply for the backlight lamp mounted inside the LCD screen. It converts low voltage DC power to high voltage AC power needed for the backlight lamp. You will need to replace this cable to fix the problem permanently.

I cannot get my Toshiba Satellite M305-S4910 to switch its' display to a stationary monitor. Is there something I need to do besides plug in the monitor cable?

Are you in windows 7? If so, hold the windows key and press P. Select the monitor output configuration you want (being careful to make sure you can still see the screen on something).

If you lose the screen entirely, unplug the vga cable and reboot the computer.

My new Satellite M305-S4910 is experiencing a monitor flickering. What can I do to stop it flickering?

Remove the power strip above the keyboard and the keyboard and remove the bezel on the LCD. This will give you a clear view of the wiring leading from the screen to the motherboard. Look for a loose connection or rubbed or frayed wiring. Also, a lot of video problems are from the cable getting loose that runs from the back of the screen. This is a flat cable the fits in a socket on the back of the screen.

Here is the lcd removal duide for your laptop....
