Question about GE 25865GE3 Phone

1 Answer

25865ge3 phone handset now shows "synchronize" and can not be reset.

I have a 25865ge3 phone system that has one handset that suddenly displays "synchronize". No matter what I do, it says the same thing. I guess I will have to pull the battery and reprogram the useless thing.

I just don't have time to do this with this junk phone. Other issues also like no volume on the base.

1. Press & hold End and # at the same time until you see the System Reset menu.

2. If you still have the base the handset is registered to, select Deregister HS, then select the handset you want to reset. If you don't have that base anymore, select Base Unavailable.

3. To confirm, select Yes. The handset displays "Handset not registered"

Now you want to register the phone again.

1. Place the handset in the base; the display should say Handset
Registering.

2. Wait until the display says Registration Complete (about 30
seconds), then pick up the handset and press Talk/flash.
You should now have a dial tone

All of a sudden no button on the phone works. I can't dial out, I can't call an extension. Nothing. Can you help?

cordless phones come with up to five handsets each will need to be properly adjusted. You may need to set the main handset to synchronize with the base unit plugged into the telephone wall jack and assign special configuration numbers to the other handsets in order to properly identify each one within a specified location. One handset left in the turned on mode may make it impossible to place calls with the any of the other handsets. This will continue until either the battery dies or fails on the handset or the phone is switched off and replaced in its charger for charging again. Synchronize the main handset by pressing the MENU button on the handset, then pressing the down button IN order to select the number you wish to assign to that handset. Repeating this process if you have already done so will greatly decrease the level of errors experienced with panasonic phones.

I received as a gift a GE 5.8 GHz Accessory Handset. The base Model #25865 was not included Where can I buy this base. Frank G. Pirozzi - email: fgpirozzi@bex.net

Mostly the base unit comes with an accompanying handset or multiple handsets as the handsets are easier to get alone. But there are a couple of places where you can search for the base unit. The first 2 being ebay.com and amazom.com.
but based on research and previous encounters there is a likely possibility of getting it at office depot and office max.
Hope this solution has been helpful?

With the phone in standby, press MENU/SELECT on the base.
Move the cursor to select the Register Handset menu, and then press MENU/SELECT. Handset Registering will appear.
On the handset, press and hold # until the handset beeps and displays Handset Registering.
When the handset has registered to the base, the LCD will display Registration Complete then show the handset ID number.
If the display shows Registration failed, repeat the process again.
Note: If a handset has ever been registered to a base, reset the handset before you register it to a new base

[ARC20x User Guide p20: 11 Handset Registration]
To register a new handset:
  1. Press and hold the HANDSET LOCATOR on the base unit until you hear Registration tone (repeated 'beeps')
  2. On the handset, press the PROG then the UP or DOWN button to display "REGISTER"
  3. Press the PHONE/OK
-> The display shows "BS 1234". If any of these numbers is steady (not flashing), then the handset is already registered to that base unit.
  4. Press 1 to select base unit number 1
    -> The display shows "BASE PIN _ _ _ _"
  5. Key in the system PIN (default 0000) and press the PHONE/OK
-> The display shows "WAIT _ _ _ _" for a few moments, while the handset searches for a base. Then it shows a list of handset numbers which are still free on the base unit.
(For example, "1 34 6" indicates that numbers 1, 3, 4 and 6 are free; 2 and 5 are already assigned to other handsets.)
  6. Key in a free handset number
-> After a moment, the display should show the handset's name and number.
If registration fails...
  • Try again, making sure you begin step 2 as soon ans Registration tone starts.
