Question about JVC AV-48WP30 48" Rear Projection Television
I was watching TV, then the screen flickered with blue, green and red lines, then just went black. I have perfect sound, just no picture. If I turn the set off and wait a few minutes it will operate fine for a minute or two and then go to black again.
Remove the front grey bottom panel of you TV (don't forget the 2 screws behind the front AV cover located just below the power button) then remove the panel behind the grey panel. You should see 2 heat sinks on the front right of your TV, place a fan near your TV and have it blowing on the heat sinks. Now turn on your TV and see if it stays on longer then it has been. If it does, your DC amps might be overheating. If they are, you might be able to fix your problem by adding in a little more heat sink compound between your DC amps and the heat sink itself. You can find the compound at Radio Shack for about $5. let me know if pointing a fan directly on the heat sinks helps.
