Question about Lands Phones

I purchased the philips cd255 phone yeasterday could you tell me if the base station should ring when the handsets not on and why do both hand set say new calls even when i clear one of them should it not clear both handset messages

    I have the same problem with the "New Call" function. More irritating is that the phone bleeps "sense and simplicity" each hour after it receives a new call. Quite nice in your bedroom.

    Does anyone know how to switch the bleep off ? Switching off the ring tone does not affect this.

    Can anyone help me ?

    Still, it is nor=t very clear how to clear this tone, even manually

To your 2nd question, the handsets operate independently, so any operation on one does not affect the others, whether storing a phone number or clearing records of calls.

The handset is stating out of range but i can call out and if i know someone is calling me I can answer but it doesn't ring!

I would tend to think the Handset gets regular updates from the base to refresh its' display with information even if not in a phone call.
If the handset does not receive a 'regular' message or 'heart-beat' it will likely say "out of range". The base station can hear the handset, but the handset can't hear the basestation as well is likely. If you bring the hand-set closer to the base-station does the issue go away? If not, I would tend to think there is RF interference or the set is defective. Perhaps scanning for a new channel would be helpful if the set supports that capability.

No ring tone on RTX Dualphone 3088 handset. All settings same as second phone which works.


there must be problem with the loud speaker or ringing speaker of the phone.take it to product care center

The handsets are displaying 'UNREGISTERED' and not working!


UNREGISTERED means the phone has not yet been set up to work with any particular base. I don't have any Phillips phones, so I can't tell you the procedure, but it should be outlined in the owners manual. Look for registering your handsets.

No KX-TGA101S communication with KX-TG1033S


The additional handsets must be registered to the base unit. Here are the instructions from the manual:
HANDSET
1. [menu}
2. "handset settings" - OK
3. "Registration" - OK
4 "HS registration" - OK
BASE UNIT
Press and hold [LOCATOR] until the registration tone sounds.
-if all registered handsets start ringing, press {LOCATOR] to stop, then repeat this step.
-after the base unit beeps, the rest of the procedure must be completed within 1 minute and 30 seconds.
HANDSET
Press [OK], then wait until a beep sounds and Y stops flashing.

Base station and units all say 'searching'


You may need to register your handset to the base.
Normally ,there is a advanced setting ,register handset. At the same time, press and hold "page" key on your base 4 to 5 second , there is be a registation success tone from handset. You can register all of your handset ,one by one. Some model need to input register code, normally ,it is 1234 , or 0000.

The hand-sets are not registered with the base-station. Reset system by: remove batteries, unplug base station, disconnect batteries in all hand sets. Wait 15 minutes. Reinstall batteries in hand sets. Reinstall batteries in base station, plug base station in. Place each hand set in the base station until it automatically registers (usually immediately, or within 1 minute or so).

If that doesn't fix the problem, if possible, return the system to where you bought it for exchange or refund. If that isn't an option, call Thompson help line. They are not particularly knowledgeable, but will authorize a return to the a repair center. The process is slow...

My experience: The two hand sets that came with my system worked perfectly, but none of the three additional handsets I purchased would register. The three additional handsets I purchased were the last three on the my retailer's shelf, so, retail exchange wasn't an option. I contacted Thompson and they authorized return for repair or replacement. The repair center received my handsets on October 29, 2008. Its now November 27, 2008 and I'm still waiting.

I don't know where a manual can be found, but I know you need to place each handset in the main cradle / base station for at least 20 seconds for the handset to get Registered to that base station.

Phone rings, but once answered its not possible to hear a voice.


Similar issue - brand new phone - but incoming calls (skype or landline) would ring - and then nothing, and outgoing calls the handset would just reset.

The handset would just lose signal constantly (less than 2 meters from the base station).

The phone shipped with the latest software - but eventually I reinstalled it - no change, then de-registered the handset, powered everything down and re-registered the handset and that *seems* to have done it .....

So
1 - reflash / re-install latest software from philips website (even if the phone already has the same version)
2 - de-register handset (follow instructions)
3 - unplug base station and remove batteries from handset
4 - turn on base station, put batteries in handset
5 - re register handset (follow instructions in manual)

and that seems to do it.
