Re: my dvd driver dont work
Problems like this are rally common, in fact CD/DVD ROM hardware will die at any point of its usage. When experiencing problems like "no disc on drive X" or "Can't read contents on CD" or if you have a dual function CD/DVD-RW, one of its functions will stop working. Most problems can be solved by uninstalling the hardware and reinstalling it or check for firmware updates but chances are that you need to replace it with a new one. I had a SonyVio laptop for 5 years and I replace the driver three times.

If the screen shows a picture but very faintly, the inverter is either not connected properly or faulty.
If there's nothing on the screen at all
1) Your screen is either not connected properly or faulty.
or 2) *********** board has a fault.
or 3) Your graphics card/chip has a fault.
You can connect your laptop to another screen using the VGA port on the back. You have to switch to the spare screen using the keyboard, usually Fn and another key. If the spare screen then shows a picture, *********** board and graphics card are OK, your screen is at fault or not connected properly.
Checking the connections to both the inverter and screen will require dismantling you laptop. If you go about this, ensure all power, including the battery is disconnected.
To Select Last Good Known Configuration and manually install the new driver: Approximate Troubleshooting time: 5-8 minutes
Reboot the PC and press F8 at startup Select Last Known Good and let the PC boot Browse to: C:\Drivers\System\UTLIntelMatrixStorageMgr3\ Run iata86enu.exe and follow the instructions (next, next…) In the event you get pop-ups that the installer cannot find a particular file, hit the Browse button and point to the directory: C:\Program Files\Intel\Intel Matrix Storage Manager\Drivers\ At the end of the install, accept the option to reboot. Login to the PC and verify the new driver installed. Open Device Manager and look for the Intel SATA controller (the name will vary between models) Open the device. Go to the Driver Tab (at the top). Click Driver Details. Verify that iaStor.sys is now version 184.108.40.2067
The easiest way is to hit F10 right after the Acer splash screen. This will take you into recovery mode on the laptop. Then just do the Reset to Factory Default. This will put everything back to the way it was when you purchase the laptop. It does this from the recovery partition.
i am not an expert but i remember when my computer wasnt working and wouldnt install the recovery the dell people told me to put the computer into safe mode. try that.
if you dont know u hold down the power button untill the screen is blank. then when you turn on the power you will see 2 buttons or 3. one is start windows normaly, another is start windows in safe mode
This sounds like a driver problem. First, go to Device Manager, Expand the CD/DVD to get your make and model. Right click on your model and click Troubleshooting. Just follow the instructions, it will walk you through some troubleshooting steps. Also, while you are there you can click on update driver see if there is a new one. Finally, as a last resort you can uninstall then reinstall your driver. Hope this helps, let me know how it turns out.
should i assume that the drive work previouly with com dvd? my annlysis of this problem is that the dvdrom is not able to read the format the dvd is in. the format of the hard drive does not determine the ability to read or not read a dvd. that is the job of the optical disc.so dont worry about the format that is in.ok. the other aspect of the ability to read dvd is the software. windows media player and other that are of age has a inability to play some new format dvd. best bet install the newest version of power dvd put the disc and check should start automat pending setting you may need to go to my computer and double clickon the romdrive. let me know.
