The easiest way is to get a multirouter run your net to the router and run all the pc's you want on the net to the router and install software on both pc's for net use and away you go.

The soho is a router and a good one but if it is not letting you on the net on both pc's you may need to install the software on the one or both that are not working.Internet software that is not router software as you are only running through it not to it. Maybe it is not compatable with your net service but unlikly as I've never heard of a net service that is picky with routers. It could be the soho is no good but most likly it is a software issue. Go into your control panel and click on network connections and see if you have net installed on both pc's and if they are active or dissconnected. if disconnected right click and click connect. if that doesn't work you need to uninstall and reinstall your net service for your modem.

Http://192.168.1.254/ has been put into my home page browser but nothing happens

IP ADDRESS 192.168.1.254 is the default gateway of an AT&T modem router (RESIDENTIAL GATEWAY) (2WIRE). for this ip address should be able to view the main screen of your 2wire modem and if not your computer is connected to a different network.

1) try connecting the computer to the 2wire RG using a ETHERNET cable (if your connected via wireless)
2) make sure that the DSL light is solid and not blinking.
3) if your computer already connected by a ETHERNET cable, try accessing the same ip address if your able to view the main screen of your 2wire modem it means that your computer will be able to connect to the internet.
4) try this also:
this for internet explorer:
click tools - connections - LAN settings
( if there's a tick mark on PROXY SERVER remove it )
if you do have tick mark on PROXY SERVER then your computer have a virus, because virus can put a tick on PROXY SERVER without you noticing it.
after removing the tick you will be able to connect to the internet again.

How do i set my ps3 up to get online

Take the ethernet only and attach it to your router. If you are not already using a router for your computer internet connection then if your router has connection software that needs installing for network setup for the router only you run the software on the computer after connecting the router to the PC.

If you use the oruter for your PC connection already then do the following.

  • Connect the Ethernet from the PS3 to the router0
  • On the ps3 Go to settings
  • Go to network settings
  • Go to network connection, select enable
  • Go to Internet connection settings just below internet connection-
  • Push yes when it says you may be disconnected
  • Select wired or wireless
  • For wireless use scan or enter manually
  • Follow on screen instructions.
Once that is set up return to main menu and go to network near the right.

Here is a video instruction:

How do i get wep key or wpa key from my main computer

If your main computer is running Windows Vista/7, you can go to Control Panel\Network and Internet\Manage Wireless Networks, right-click on your network, and select properties. Once there, select the Security tab, and your key will be there (you may have to check the show characters button). The key may already be encrypted, but you can still input it into a device to connect to the network. If you're running XP, go to Control Panel\Network Connections, and follow the same process. You can also go onto your router's configuration page and find the key (using a computer that is already connected to it).

Connect the DSL modem to the WAN port of the D-Link. It should be labelled or colored differently. You then connect your computer to ANY other jack on the D-Link.

Ps3 internet problems

..Cricket Wireless and Ps3.....actually could never go together!!!!!!!!....Cricket do not support gaming systems to be frank!!!!......Cricket recently released a modem , Crosswave Wi-Fi hotspot modem.....and yes it is defenitely meant to set your needs!!!

If u are still adament on getting your Cricket modem work on Ps3, then we two problems to over come....out which we have already discussed one...(1).not all Cricket not being compatible,
(2)and the usage level that cricket gives!!!
Ensure that you have highest rate plan from Cricket ($60).......that will give you 7.5 gb of usage.
So that you would stay connected.
>Install the Cricket application on your computer (on the main computer) and get both computers connected to the router.
>now press Windows + R on your key board.Type in and hit enter on your key board.
Now right click on Cricket Wireless, you would get an option to share the internet, click on the same.It will give you a notification about password being stored and IP address of the computer being changed to 192.168.0.1...,give it your approval by clickin on OK button.
>Now its time for you to have a check with the other computers..you need to get on network connections and change their IP address to the same range of your main computer 192.168.01.02.
>One thing you cant afford to make a mistake on is setting the default gateway to 192.168.0.1.

Oh yes, you are gonna like this info!!!!!
Thank u!!!

Connect two computers together

Hi,

Technically, yes. Both computers should have an Ethernet port (LAN), a crossover networking cable, peer to peer networking using static IP add, and Internet Connection Sharing on the PC with the Wireless Internet Connection. If by chance the PC with the Internet access is already using its Ethernet port, a second NIC could be installed.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.

Problems with second computer connecting to the internet

First, is your kids computer trying to connect via the WiFi connection? If so, do you have any encryption enabled on the Belkin? (WEP, WAP, etc.) Can the computer 'see' the WiFi Access Point, meaning can it see the SSID (or WiFi name)? Are you using the Built-in XP Zero Wifi Config Utility, or did you install a proprietary utility from Belkin?

Since you have already soft reset the router (power cycle), you may have to do a hard reset using the Reset Button on the back of the router.. you will loose all your configurations, so be ready to setup your WiFi connection again..
