Sounds like your hardware WIFI card has failed inside the laptop. The easiest thing to do would be to get an external PCMCIA or USB WIFI card. Many of them are available for under $15.00 on ebay.
I would suggest a PCMCIA WIFI card which will leave your usb ports free.
You can check with ACER to find out what a new wifi card would cost and if they have any manuals to show how to replace it. I have had many laptops pulled apart and it is much more difficult to replace internal cards and parts than on a desktop.
Below is a link to an ebay page with laptop WIFI cards auction listings.
I hope that this information .helpful and will leave positive feedback for me if you do.
Have you plug you card reader in another computer? and was it found your card reader with SDcard? (defined as USB mass storage device)?
I suggest you try it first there may be a problem with your card reader or the SD card which is not properly connected/plug!
Try these step by step:
start>my computer>rightclick on properties>click on the hardware tab>
click the device manager>if you find the USB mass storage device icon come with yellow sign, right click on it and choose the uninstall from context menu than answer yes to confirm....
then go to the top of device manager toolbar and click the button with
SCAN FOR HARDWARE CHANGES>...then it will SCAN...>DONE
Your computer then will find your card reader and the SD card!
I have same issue as you. the Sakar people told me the same thing and I do have GSA Sim Card which should supported by them. But card reader still not work. I tried install software from web site, tried all steps other people said, it is just sucks. If anyone solve the problem. please post here. I swear I will never buy this brand anymore.
