you can try and take the access cover off the amp portion of your speaker set, try and run the speakers with it off and see if that helps. You can try drilling some additional air vents in the amplifier section of your speaker set, I would take the computer amp box apart first to make sure your clear of any wiring or obstruction, and drill holes in the cover you just removed, maybe if you have a spare cpu fan or something you could build a little vent system for your speakers' amp.

good luck,

My UC-280 speakers worked well for last 5 years. But now wire connection to the left side speaker has broken. Now I need to open the speaker to fix the broken wire connection. I could not find any screws...

first,i never seen uc 280 speakers & dont know if it is a wood or a plastic speaker enclousure. 1. try looking 4 screws again, you might have missed them 2. if you sure there are no screws, you may have a plastic speaker box that was put together with crazy glue. in that case you will have to look for seams to crack or pry with two large flat bladed screwdriver or two very stiff puddy knifes. if you cant find a seam good enough to get a screwdriver into to start the pry job, you will have to take a stiff thin bladed knife that you dont mind ruining the looks of and heat the blade
red with a propsine tourch $12.00athome depot or a gas stove
burner will do & saves you $12.00. even an electric stove burner might work if you put the knife blade on the burner & a heavy black cast iron fry pan in the top of the knife blade.
anyway, one you get the knife blade or flat screwdriver tip hot,you can ment a slot through the plastic enough to get a pry started.
by now you realize that we are going to make somewhat of a mess of your speaker box, but if it is crazy glued together, this is all that can be done about getting it apart.right now,you dont have a working speaker. you may end up with a working speaker that looks like it survived world war 3 in bad shape, but best I can do,so sorry.if you can pry it appart enough to get inside and reconnect the wire, the test to make sure speaker does work,we ate ready to glue it back together. A hot melt glue gun from you local dollar tree or dollar store will do the trick or a tube of crazy glue.alternately, you can use the engineering llc solution
which is ,if its susposed to move and dont, use wd40 but if its not susposed to move but does, use duct tape.
so you can use a good grade of duct tape to hold your speaker box together with,if need be.

in the past,we have used hot melt glue gun to reattach the plastic front of a vw passat so it would be flush with the front fenders when a sheet metal screw didnt work good. used the hot melt to keep the sheet metal screw from coming out and to hold the edge of the plastic in flush to the fender edge. god help who ever takes that apart again. hope he is a good problem solver because that vw solution was from mickey mouse enginenering, llc

Mp450 docking station no sound not charging

It's very likely the wires that go inside were worn out or cut by the internal plastic edges. It happened to mine. I removed the soft plastic at where it rotates and noticed that the wires were cut but the internal plastic edges. If you bought it less than one year ago, Altec is replacing them. If not, check if you got an extended warranty through the store or your credit card company.

Are there Windows 7 (64-bit) drivers for a Harman Kardon HK695 speaker system? The speakers were originally purchased for a Windows XP desktop computer in 2002; and, I want to put them on a newer year...

They are speakers and therefore do not require a drive, well, I have never seen speakers that require one anyways. Your sound card is what needs drives but as long as you have the right connection (3.5mm jack) to plug into your speaker port the speakers should just work. If you need a specific program for advanced controls of the speakers then I would recommend going to the manufacturers website for downloads.

Just want to use the subwoofer with my computer.

i have dont this, in order to do this you need a screwdriver and some wir cutters. fist unplug the subwoofer, the the right speaker with the knob has the controll unit inside of it so we need to open the right speaker, unplug the speaker fom the chip. (ONLY IF YOUR SURE YOU WANT THIS AS A STAND ALONE SUB) then you need to cut the solid black cord that lead to the other speaker. you can also cut the leads that went to the right speaker. undo the hot glue on the inside back of the speaker and gently pull out the funky master cord. you need to unplugh the chip that has the volume controll on it. once the cord is out you can reconnect teh chip to the master cord. i suggest mounting this chip to the top of your subwoofer. you can do this using a lot of hot glue or sticky tack. anthign that does not onduct electricty thats is tacky and wont daage that chipo you can use. and further question contact me at
