Hi, I have a cleanview bagless model# 3576-2 and my belt keeps breaking (it seems like one of the rings it should wrap around is missing) right now I have been wrapping it around the brush and a metal rod. Also, the dirt collected is going directly into the hose and not the bagless filter. What is going on?

It will make no difference which direction those washers are installed, just that they are installed.

SOURCE: Dirt Devil overheating Belt Okay

Why do the belts keep breaking

Hi there,

Well the problem happens due to the belt If the belt not installed correctly, the rubber belt will grate against one of the components in the roller brush housing. The friction of the belt against the housing produces a pungent burning odor. To correct this you need a right belt, each vacuum cleaner manufacturer produces specific belts for specific machines. An incompatible belt installed on the vacuum cleaner will cause the belt to break or burn.

Good Luck!!

WHAT'S THE EASIEST WAY TO INSTALL BELT?? I KEEP BURNING BELTS.

First check to see if the brush rolls freely with no belt in place. If not remove the brush roll and clean and lube the end caps. If the caps are nylon try to gently pop them off to inspect underneath.
Clean the motor shaft with extra fine wet dry sandpaper, then install the belt around the shaft and onto the brush before engaging the brush in it`s socket. Now use the brush to leverage into place.Check again for free smooth rotation, then replace the cover plate

Belt keeps snapping

Check your brush. It is likely that the brush is broken and will not spin. Hold the brush by the end caps and spin the brush and if it will not spin freely that is your issue.
