Not sure what it means but it's almost impossible to get out, once in that mode. If it's under a year Sharp will fix it for free, call and talk to tech support they will ask for a CC # and will send a prepaid return sticker to ship ground. If not most likely you will have to change the main board!!!!!!!

The display has "*" blinking

You can get out of programming mode by pressing f [P/R] or simply turning the calculator off and on again. The blinking asterisk is the low battery indicator. You probably still have at least a week of normal usage left, but you should replace the batteries soon.

I am very happy with my new smeg oven but no where in the oven manual does it say how to cook puff pastry for example a pie. I have a wall built in oven and have tried turbo and static function

Hello blachett989,

I belive they refer to puf pastry as Fruit Tarts under the sweeties label in the owners manual. As I do not know what model number oven you have I have looked at a few of the owners manuals on line. It states the different types of modes and temperature and approximate cook time for the pastry or tart as they refer to it.

Thank you for choosing FixYa.com if you have anymore questions about this unit I will need a model number to help furthure.
