hi, the problem you are having is down to the fact you dont have the correct pc suite installed on your computer, all you need to do is use google or another search engine and type in the following motorola pc suite then hit search, the first one in the list should be the motorola site so thats the best one to use, once the pc suite is installed on your pc your will then be able to connect it to your pc and do what ever you like. without the pc suite your computer wont recognise the phone and wont let you do anything with it, so get the motorola pc suite and you should be able to do what ever you loke.
let me know how you get on or if you need further assistance ok
please rate this solution as i have a whole page of unrated posts, thanks
if not then you need to update the MPT software on the pc, hopefully you have installed the MPT software if not then do so first and if the pc can not locate a driver for your phone , you can find this on motorola.com
if your phone is a razr then i would go to there site and download whatever driver's needed to run on your vista pc at home.. or to go miscrosofts site and see if they have the download there too.. typically you can usually find the cd online for any phones and pc stuff but whether it's compatible with vista is another story.. good luck.. hope this helps..d
Go to Sony site and download the driver for your phone http://ma3-origin.extranet.sonyericsson.com/drivers/ Step 1 Remove data cable from usb and put it into a different one Step 2 Connect your phone to the computer with the cable and turn it on. You might see "Found New Hardware" wizard. DON'T let Windows search for the driver; point it to the driver you just downloaded, and install the drive on your computer. After the driver as installed you should be working 100%
try a travel charger and see if that is charging it...if that does not help the problem you may need to change the charger port. or when u install it on the pc....check your device maanger and see if it has a yellow triangle which means that you may need to update the drivers for the computer to recognise it...hopefully you are using windows XP...if you are using vista that O/S is giving loads of problems.
P.S. trying loading on your MPT 4.0....if you do not have it you can download it for free online
