Yes. They are programmable to either wideband or narrowband on a per channel basis.

In response to Steven's kind post, we have seen this, usually only in older BPR40 radios. An experienced programmer will recognize the issue during programming. I would not let this dissuade you from programming a BPR40 to narrowband (as mandated by the FCC). The fix is inexpensive and most shops will take care of it upon recognizing it has happened.

Yes they are. It is done by software. However, if you go from wide band to narrowband, you may have poor rx sensitivity. This is because the narrowband ceramic filter is bad and needs to be changed. Very common problem.
