Question about Dell Inspiron 6000 Notebook
My laptop slipped out of my hands six inches off the floor and now will not turn on. When I press the power button, the power light blinks as long as I'm pressing the button. At the same time the laptop makes no sound and seems practically dead.
I've removed the battery, hard drive, and RAM and then put the parts back which worked once. I tried it again after shutting my laptop off and now will not turn on at all. I repeated the steps and nothing has changed. I tried turning on the laptop without the battery and only plugged in with the AC and this doesn't work either.
Any ideas? Thanks in advance.
Im having the same problem.
i've heard that replacing the dc jack fixes it.
i currently have my lappy sitting in front of me in 100 parts.
im going to radioshack tomorrow to get a dc jack. im also going to get a new power adapter and battery just in case.
if it doesnt work than new computer for me...

Unfortunately, it sounds like the board cracked. But if holding the button down illuminates it, then maybe all is not lost. Did the unit hit the floor sideways?
