Is the theft light flashing fast when you turn the key to the ON position? If you hold your foot on the gas will the engine start and run?

The problem you are having is usually caused by one of the following:
1. Fuel pump. When the problem is happening listen for a whine in the tank behind the rear axle. Try banging on the fuel tank with a rubber mallet.
2. Fuel pump and PCM/EEC power relay. Tap on those relays in the relay box next to the fuse box under the hood.
3. Crank sensor. Wiggle the connector on the sensor located next tp thecrank pulley behind the a/c compressor.
4. Idle air control valve. Tap on the IAC located on the back of the intake.

And re-check to make sure that the inertia switch in the trunk did not trip. Also make sure that the theft warning light is not flashing rapidly when you turn the key to the ON position.

Hope this helps; keep us updated.

Had to start then blue smoke on cold engine start

Blue smoke usually means that oil of some sort has entered the combustion chamber. While that COULD be the CAUSE of a hard start (assuming you mean 'hard' not 'had' start) it may be just a symptom or result of the actual cause. Things that might be important to diagnose would be mileage, engine, any history of overheating, old fuel, moisture content in fuel, etc.

Possible Service Engine Soon Light, Engine Stalling, or Hard Starting

Engine, May 18, 2009

RepairPal Expert Overview:
The RTV seal on the fuel system control modules may allow water to enter into the module. Water in the module can cause a short, which may cause hard starting, a crank-no start condition, or stalling, and the Service Engine Soon light may come on. If the engine stalls unexpectedly, there is an increased risk of a crash. Dealers will replace the fuel system control module free of charge. The recall began on May 18, 2009. The GM recall number is 08411.

93 gmc jimmy hard starting

"Hard starting" is a very vague description of the problem. There are MANY things that can make an engine hard to start - ranging from a weak battery to a bad fuel pump, to worn-out spark plugs or a plain, worn-out engine...

The only "solution" I can offer at this point, would be to recommend doing some diagnostics to determine at least which system in your vehicle is the cause of the hard starting.

My 2004 trailblazer has been hard starting lately?

This problem can be caused by a defective electric fuel pump pressure check valve, when it fails air get into the fuel system after engine shut down and this causes hard starting, to confirm this is the problem buy a can of spray starting fluid and next time you have a hard start spray the starting fluid into the air intake of the engine, if it fires right off then you have an issue with the fuel system. Also have the engine control computer scanned for codes and check the ECT (engine coolant temperature) sensor for proper value with alive data scanner.

Hard starting, now it won't start, no engine

I would check the timing in the engine, if it is off far enought it would cause hard starts, also check your spark plugs. Basically a rountine maintaince check should do it. also check spark plug wires too. check all connection. try not to use either to much too, if the engine gets to use to it for so reason you will start to use it all the time
