• E-99: Changer malfunction, disc may be caught in machine or changer requires service.
Unfortunately the E99 code is not definitive. There may be a mechanical jam with the changer or a problem with the motor.
if any changer will work with it, it would have to be a kenwood changer. it may not even run a changer. the newer decks do not operate changers anymore. everyone is into ipods these days
CD changers can be made to run on adapters. There are adapters availible that switch into the cigarette lighter socket with ratings of 50w,100w.Or else if its for a small cd changer, check current rating of the cd changer.ideally the voltager rating would be 12v.Then purchase an adapter with the given specific current and voltage rating. And use it with ur cd changer.
Hi, If it's saying "No Changer" then it's possible that one of the connections between the radio and the changer itself has become disconnected, a possible blown fuse or worse still the changer itself has failed.
First of all check the fuse box, make sure there are not any blown fuses there and if you have to refer to your VW manual if you got the CD multi-changer with the car. Locate the changer itself and check that any leads has not become disconnected and check behind the radio itself to make sure nothing has become disconnected. Once you have checked all connections on the radio and changer, and checked the fuses, and you are happy that all seems well then you can try your changer again. Don't forget to replace any blown fuses you find!!! If you need anymore help or the changer still is not picked up by the radio please post back.
cd changer reqs a verygood 12v source, check for a good earth&check how many volts are going to changer with a good quality voltmeter, check at changer, not head unit
The kvt-617dvd doesn't list your changer as one that's compatible. However the changer install procedure is relatively simple - just plug the 13-pin cable from the changer directly into the kvt-617's hideaway receiver. I would suggest you connect it to see if the changer will work before buying anything else.
