How do you change nat settings when it only lets you enable it?

Without knowing your exact model of router, I can not give you specific directions. But I can tell you what you need to do in general.

First of all check your ethernet cables to make sure they are firmly in place. Ethernet cables with the retention clip broken off have a tendency to not fully seat.

Next you need to get into the configuration of your router. This is done via a web browser interface. You will have to navigate to an address of something close to or It depends on your specific router brand.

Once inside your configuration, you want to look for the internal IP your 360 uses. It will be something like You can also grab this IP address from your 360 in its network settings menus.

Now that you have the IP of your 360, you want to forward the following ports to that IP address: 88 UDP, 3074 UDP and 3074 TCP. Save the setting changes and test your NAT status again. If all is well, then you are done, if that didn't do the trick then continue reading.

Next you can enable DMZ for the IP of your 360. Make sure you do not accidently put in the IP of one of your computers. Save the settings and test your NAT status again.

If it is still not working, look for an option called "UPnP", turn it on.

One of the above should have given you an "open" NAT and solved your problem.

Subject: my ip adress

The Wireless Security might be enabled in your wireless network. Check the wireless settings of your wireless router (encryption or wireless MAC filter). If the wireless settings are correct, you may try to manually assign a static IP.

Cant connect

do you have DHCP enabled on your wireless access point / router?

If not you'll need to find somewhere to either enable it, or manual set your ip for the PS3

Ip address failed

I think you need to ring your internet provider and they will enable xbox live from their side. Its fairly simple and they will know what your talking about.

PS3 wireless internet problems

It sounds like a defective wireless antenna. Connect your PS3 via a long network cable and see if you can get online. If you can, the problem is a defective antenna.

Assuming you purchased the PS3 from a store and have the reciept, you should be able to get it swapped or fixed via warranty.

Good luck and take care,

Random DNS Error

You may need to manually configure your PS3 connection on the console. Let's see.. I can suggest to first go to your Settings Menu -> Network Settings -> Choose:"Settings and Connection Status List" this will display a pretty detailed information about your connection to your local gateway (router).. Check specifically for Primary and Secondary DNS. In my experience, using the PS3's auto setup for the connection seems to enter the default gateway's ip (labeled "Default Router" on PS3 Status Screen) in place of the real DNS entries..

: Sooo how do you check your primary/secondary DNS for your network? Answer: On your PC, open a web browser and enter your default gateway ip into the browser.. log into your router (assistance can be found in your router manual or by calling your router manufacture). You should see a status page of sorts that displays your ISP's primary/secondary DNS entries.. Simply transfer those two IPs to your PS3 manually to correct the DNS issue.

Hopefully that should resolve your issue!

Connecting on line - IP address

From the sounds of it your using a wireless connection? when you use the auto connect and it fails what does it say in the connection status in internet options? what is your signal strength? mine wouldnt work if it was less than 90%. i sorted this by moving my wireless box to the top hall so connection is 100% and i have no problems. please feel free to ask any questions.
