I am guessing is isnt held in place with tiny screws.

if it is a screw down back you need an adjustable case opener or the local watch guy

snap on types A,B and C probably should have the special little tool for each type, apparently case type C has little hooks that need to be untoggled .inside the case with tool type B....I bet the local watch guy could crack it open in no time. Mine is held with screws thank goodness. If the watch is

I bought CCCP Mens Shchuka Automatic Stainless Steel Bracelet Watch last 2 months and now watch stop. How can I do?

An automatic watch is sometimes called a self-winding watch, though they can sometimes be conventionally wound in addition if the watch is not worn very much or the wearer has a very sedentary life. An automatic watch needs to be worn and the wrist it is worn on needs quite a lot of activity in order to keep the watch spring wound sufficiently to keep it going during rest and sleep periods.

Considering this, if the watch was new and faulty it should be returned to the retailer for replacement. Your contract is with the retailer and supplying you with a watch that hasn't lasted a reasonable time is in breach of that contract. Even if the watch has a manufacturer's guarantee it is better if the retailer takes responsibility for the carriage, insurance, etc.

If the watch was a previously used (previously owned or second-hand) you can hardly return it to the seller unless the seller has guaranteed it, though your local consumer protection laws might provide protection if you bought it from a business. Much will depend on the age of the watch, the price paid, the original price and how it was advertised. Such sites as ebay and Amazon provide certain additional consumer protections and if you paid by credit card the insurance might provide some cover as indeed might a house contents or personal all-risks policy.

In the case of a pre-owned watch you will first have to take it to a trusted local watch-repairer for fault diagnosis and a repair estimate, except in the case of a watch that is guaranteed waterproof. Such watches must be sent only to the manufacturer or an approved repairer if it is desired the waterproofing continues to be guaranteed.

W to changebattery #65041g

Changing the battery on most watches is fairly straightforward and needs only the usual tiny screwdriver, insulated tweezers and a large measure of patience and good eyesight.
The main problem is usually opening the case and in the case of a quality watch that is guaranteed waterproof it really should be returned to the manufacturer for battery fitting and pressure testing. If testing isn't carried out after the case has been opened the watch realistically then becomes merely water resistant rather than waterproof.

Usually it is the back of the watch case that must be opened and in the case of ordinary non-waterproof and non-water resistant types it is a simple matter to prise the back off with a thin blade and then refit it with finger pressure.
Water-resistant watch cases that have a priseable back often need the back pressing back on with force supplied either by a purpose-made press or a large bench vice. In both cases adapters are needed to prevent damage to the case and the crystal.

A lot of watches have a back that unscrews and strictly a dedicated key, wrench or spanner is needed for this task. I have managed to overcome this problem a number of times by pressing other tools "that look as if they might do the job" into service. I cannot say what it was I used as I wandered around my workshop just trying things. I think the last time a particular circlip plier did the trick.

Simpler to take the watch and have someone else replace the battery I think.

I have a Steinhausen TW524L Watch how do i change the battery or is this watch automatic it has stopped running.

It's not as easy as popping off the back like some watches to replace the battery. The 4 screws on the top bezel are not the ones to remove. Look at the back side of the watch and you'll see 4 really tiny pinholes. You'll need a jewelers screwdriver small enough to fit into the holes to remove the 4 screws. Once you do that, the two halves of the watch come apart with a little pressure. It takes a little prying to get the case to separate. Once you do that, you'll see the battery. Be careful with the waterproof gasket as you'll need to put that back in the same position to keep the case sealed. The gasket is really delicate. You might consider taking it to a watch maker to change out the battery if you don't have the tiny (and I mean really tiny) screwdriver to remove the 4 back screws.

My Timex automatic gains a bit each day. Can I adjust it?

Most watches have some sort of adjustment but I would advise you to take it to a Timex dealer as removing the back can cause problems (particularly with the waterproofing seal).

Also, I could not see the back of the watch in the catalogue but many watches need special tools to remove the back.

Have problem with moist on the inglio watch

If you have a moisture problem, bring the watch to a watch repair specialist and tell them you need a new seal or for them to check the seal behind the back cover. After the seal is removed or replaced, the waterproof guarantee is then void and the maker can no longer guarantee that the watch will then be waterproof.

Get the back off my eddie bauer watch

when you look at the back are there three small rectangular indents evenly spaced on the edge on the back? If so you'll need a special tool for opening waterproof watches. the tool adjusts to fit the three indents then press down as you turn counterclockwise. you can find the tool on or your local jewelry store. make sure the gasket is in place and not damaged before screwing the back on.

here is a link to the tool

How do you open the case for a Bucherer automatic watch?

I would suggest taking this watch to your local Jeweler, a mom and pop Jeweler if there is one close to you and have them look at it. They most generally don't charge anything to look at it. Then they could give you an estimate if needed, to fix it. Without seeing this watch it's hard to say however automatic, have you tried gently rocking it back and forth, some of these watches do not wind up just wearing them with the movements of your arm keeps them ticking.

Help setting the time

Tags have a screw down crown (winder knob) turn the knob counter clock-wise until you feel the crown unscrew (not off) then pull the crown carfully. It will pop once this is for date adjust. Then pull once more and you can now adjust the hands, set accordingly then push crown back in. After you push it back in gently compress the crown and tighten clockwise until it stops. CAUTION!!!!!!! Tags are not waterproof if the crown is not screwed back down. I hope this helps I am actually a car guy (just happen to own a couple)
