Yes, you are right about the Gucci Handbag, and there are many Gucci products made of pigskin. But I don't think using a pig product isn't forbidden, forgive me if I am wrong, but I only know eating pork is forbidden and haven't heard more than that about pigs. This only my idea, but I hope you know much more than me since you are practicing the religion. Let me confirm that, it contains pigskin.
Regarding your refund or exchange of the bag, it's hard to say since you've got it from London and you're in Kuala Lumpur. As you've just said, it's been using for sometime (i think your wife has been using it since you got it in last November), that'd be another problem. But if you have all the purchase documents, you can request Gucci outlets in your area. Hopefully they may help you out if the bag is in still good condition. I don't think it'd be a good idea to go to London for that.
These are the ideas I can share from my end.
Good Luck.
Let me know if you need further help.
Thanks for using FixYa.
Thanks for the clarification. I am sorry for more ignorance. Your only choice to refund/exchange is from Gucci. It'd be better to direct visit a Gucci outlet and ask for their help. May be they will accept you in exchange of another item even if it's not possible to refund the money. If you wish to call Gucci outlets in your area, you can try these two numbers:
