I have the same problem. I changed my sim card but the problem has persisted! I have spent countless hours with rogers technical support and each time, it looks like we've fixed the problem. But afterwards, I'll receive a call and within 3 minutes of being on the phone, the caller can no longer hear me even though I can hear them. Afterwards, I hang up and try to call the caller back but it keeps saying that the call has failed to go through.

You need to click on voice, it will bleep, close it and do it again then it will say, "say a command" close it, you will now be able to hear on your blackberry. They told me when you receive a text message with sound, it throws out your sound for the phone.

I hate to say it but you might need to hard-reset the phone. If you choose to do so BACK UP YOUR DATA first. You can get a free program called "PIM Backup." This will let you back up all of your contacts, emails, etc. (all personal information). To hard reset, hold down both of the soft keys at the same time, then simultaneously use your stylus to hit the reset button. You should get a black screen with some text on it asking if you want to hard reset. Press the "send" key to confirm. If you don't get the screen right away keep trying as it doesn't work perfectly every time.

Can't hear or be heard during phone calls

This is a known promblem with the treo phones.
If you had a wired headset plugged in to your phone then removed it. The phone thinks the headset is still plugged in. Try putting headset back in phone and removing it. You may need to do this a couple of times. If it still doesn't solve the problem make sure your bluetooth on the phone is turned off. If problem still exists you may have to contact your carrier for replacement.

Good Luck,

If you are sure you can't be heard while NOT on speakerphone, it's probably a software problem, if you can be heard but can't hear while NOT on speakerphone, then it might be a bad Mic. If you really can't be heard while NOT on speakerphone and you are out of other options, perform a HARD RESET to restore the phone to factory (or current ROM) settings. Check to make sure the mute function isn't being initiated when you take the phone off speakerphone or start a call.

READ AND FOLLOW THIS GUIDE TO PERFORM A HARD RESET.

Is there a mute button on this phone?

Try using a headset temporarily.
If the headset works - then its a speaker problem that needs to be fixed.
You could get by with the headset while the service center gets you a replacement.

Try using the voice dialing feature. I had the same problem until I used the voice dialing. It worked fine after that.

Hi

The first 2 answers sound relay dumb but always start at the beginning when diagnosing a problem. 1: make sure you're not placing your thumb over the Mic (located at the bottom, front of the device). 2: make sure Mute is not turned on, if it is tap it to turn it off. 3: if your using handsfree mode try picking the phone up and using it normally. There's no Mic volume control in the standard Matchbox based GUI but some 3rd party software does include volume adjustments so take a look at your settings in any control apps you have installed. lastly see if you get the same problem using a headset, you have not said if you are using the phone normally, with a headset/BlueTooth headset or in handsfree mode. Post back if non of this helps.

Callers can't hear me speak

Corded Mic works great. I am going to try and buy a $20 Mic piece and replace that to see if it works, as it does not seem to be a major problem.
