I would recommend checking the connection at the cable to the welder. It has happened to me a few times that the connector was in but not making contact.
Good luck Joe

Hello, I have a very old but wonderful Pfaff 260 automatic and the feed seems to be going backwards but is not pulling the fabric at all?

First, verify that the stitch length is set high enough that the feed dogs should be pulling the fabric to create a stitch.

If you have not recently oiled the machine, the feed dog mechanism may be stuck due to old oil that has solidified. Pick up some liquid Tri-Flow Synthetic Lube. While gently rocking the handwheel, apply a couple drops everywhere that metal rubs against metal. Do NOT oil rubber, leather, or synthetic parts!!! Don't forget to hit the spots under the sewing surface, ie the feed dogs, bobbin area, etc. Also, move the levers and selectors and hit those with a couple drops of oil. If things are still a bit sluggish, you can apply hot air from a handheld hairdryer at the interior of the machine. The heat will help loosen things.

P.S.--I picked up a frozen Pfaff 260 at the thrift store for $25. Used the above method to get things loose and now it sews beautifully!!!

What is the wire on the bottom of the carburator?

There is a solenoid on the bottom of the carb with a wire on it, when you turn the key on it sends current to the solenoid and it pulls a rubber plug away from the main jet feed and lets it get gas so it can run. When the key is turned off it plugs the gas feed so it doesn't backfire from gas hitting the red hot carbon on the piston. This caused a lot of broken rods. The solenoids are expensive and a lot of people cut off the tip so it doesn't plug the feed if it quits working .

My 2005 arctic cat 250 will not start I have a new battery new starter solenoide and good fuses new spark plug gas and nothing happens I have bypassed the electric push start because it quit working that...

With the ignition on, short across the starter solenoid and see if anything happens. If it tries to start (or fires up) then the problem lies with the feed to it so I would suggest re-instating a working push button and wires.

How can I prevent paper jam 0207 on canon 2230

Although paper jams occur because of dirty pickup rollers I have found that jams occur frequently because of solenoids in the paper feed mechanism (the assembly that the paper trays fit into). There are two of them and over time the damping foam on the levers get sticky causing the lever to operate late which causes the jam. As a fix I remove the damping foam and put insulation tape on the lever making sure the solenoid works by using a 12v bench psu before reassembling. You will need service manual because Paper Feed mechanism removal is a little complex.

Paper feed problems in Canon Laser Jet Printers are caused by these solenoids mainly in Duplex mode. P3005dn's etc.
Hope this helps solve yr problem.

Very little power at wire

try to use bare .032 wire and co2 shielded gas, If the equipment does not have a gas solenoid you may have to wire a solenoid to the trigger mechanism to get the gas to flow while the wire is feeding. The bare wire usually copper coated burns much hotter than the flux core when there is a gas shield. Also a .032 bare wire with a gas shield burns a a lower amp range and will get better penetration.

You may have to experiment with the feed rate and gas flow to get the correct setting, but the bare wire has a lot less resistance to current flow than the flux core and will burn a lot hotter when you use a gas shield.

At 115 vac there is not a lot of amperage left to create an arc and run the feeder and the rest of the unit , and the flux core wire takes a lot of amperage to burn both the wire and the flux . .

I have a IRON MAN 250 Mig Welder. that the wire don't feed, with regularty. I have a miller with the same tourch that dose the same thing. If you pull about 4 or 5 inches of wire out, with trigger...

Hi:

If you see rust on the wire then you should stop and change the gun's liner, change the contact tip and clean the feed rolls. Rust can accumulate inside the gun and make the wire feeding a problem.

I have a 135 hobart and the wire feed only works for a short time then it stops

Lots of MIG/MAG units have a Stich and spot facility, these are indicated by Stitch -------- and spot by .......with a timer control numbered 1-10sec make sure that both are switch to off, anti clockwise, These switches are a bit fragile so be a little carefull with them.
Lets know how you get on,,
