Greetings,
If the motor is running. I'm guessing the belt came off or split and fell off...unplug dryer and remove two screws from lint filter area. Then pop up top using a putty knife or other flat tool to pry up at front corners..once top up. Remove two screws inside front corners. Its now possible to remove front. The drum is exposed and the belt will either be laying on floor of dryer or still on drum..if not on floor..you can reinstall belt. if off, you will need new belt. install belt on tub. There is a belt pulley that fits in line with motor shaft. This usually falls off..reinstall it in the slot for it and loop belt around pulley to put pressure on belt and install belt onto motor shaft. reinstall front and top...there are links to show how belt goes on...google whirlpool dryer belt install

Most electric dryers are 220V and are essentially 2 -110V circuits.. You should have either 2 circuit breakers or two fuses supplying the power to the dryer . One is probably tripped or blown. Either reset the breaker or replace the defective fuse and you should be in bussiness!

I have a Sears dryer, model # 110.87562601.

#1 reason of dryers going bad is woman's bra's....the medal sewed in the cloth itself for support comes out and goes into the small holes and hits the heating element on both sides and shorts it out...Change the heating element....It's in back of dryer.

Dryer heats but doesn't completely dry clothes.

See if you could turn the machine and remove the vent hose on the back.
Then, after you are sure it is clear, try a load of clothes with the vent hose blowing out into the air, not hooked to a vent hose pipe through the wall.
Very often, a plugged pipe will cause this behaviour. The pipe could be plugged in the wall or somewhere else.
Be blessed.

How do you dry on this machine? if you dry on the green, does it completely dry?

The automatic preheat and drying cycle kicks in as the final wash spin is under- way. The system employs a condenser dryer in which the hot air used to dry the clothes is channeled into a drum, instead of being released into the great outdoors via a dry vent hose. Cold water is drawn into the drum at the same time. The two mix, and the result is a condensing process.

The chlothes should be dry. there may be a damp feeling to them but otherwise dry. If your machine is not drying then the element could be going bad, or a thermal cutoff. those would be the easyiest fixes.

The BIG drawback is drying. It takes about 90 minutes to dry a load, and the clothes come out very wrinkled. Because the drum is so small, the clothes don't 'toss' in heated air and don't fluff at all. Clothes also come out stiffer than a regular dryer.

Dryer runs but does not get hot and dry

It runs since the motor is still working and turning the drum. No heat since the heater element is broken so no heat got produced to dry clothes. Replace the heater element to correct the problem. Good luck

Whirlpool dryers element comes on and then turns off and does not dry cloths, help

SOUNDS LIKE THE THERMAL DISC THAT CONTROLS THE TEMPERATURE OF THE DRUM IS BAD UNDER THE DRYER DRUM WHERE THE MOTOR IS LOCATED SHOULD BE TWO THERMAL DISCS ONE IS THE DRUM TEMP AND THE OTHER IS THE HIGH LIMIT OR HIGH TEMP SAFTEY TO STOP THE DRYER FROM OVER HEATING

Mayteg model DE313 clothes dryer that stopped drying clothes.

That is a very accurate assessment of the problem. Check the element for continuity between its two contacts. If there is none, replace it. If there is, look for a fuse on the side with two wires going to it. Test it for continuity. If there is none, replace it.

Dryer not drying clothes

If you remove the lid you will see the element on top of the drum.
There are a couple of thermal cutouts mounted on it which would be the first thing to check.
Also look for the obvious broken wires etc.
Also can you hear the fan running when machine is in operation?
Hope this helps & thankyou for using Fixya.

Clothes Arent Drying

Try running a load without the venting connected. Your venting may be plugged. If that isn't it, check the heat element. Inspect it for a break. It may heat partially if it is broken and touching the housing. Hope this helps!

Dryer stopped running, will not restart

When you try to restart do you hear a motor running? If you do hear that sound and the dryer does not turn your belt could be the problem. (broken)
