RCA 31" TV pakes high pitched chirping noise

I have a 31" RCA TV Model# F31665 (service # F31665 YX1) that makes a chirping noise when plugged in. I replaced the flyback and that did not solve the problem. I listened to where the noise was coming from and heard it near the power transformer. I replaced the transformer and still the same results. I have soldered some loose connections and nothing. What am I missing?

Did you check the Horizontal Output transistor to see if it were shorted, and also check the MOSFET of the switching power supply.

My RCA TV went blank and has a high pitch noise.

it's probably not the tube. Sounds like something is shorting the B+ from the power supply. Could be the Horizontal Output transistor or the Flyback transformer. Do you know how to find these components? I could be a rectifier diode on the secondary of the power supply as well. If you know what you're doing check those with a meter. If you don't know what you're doing, ask someone who does.

Good Luck.

When my rca 36F530 tv is plugged in it makes a high pitched buzzing noise picture does not come on

There is a short circuit in the high voltage circuit. the transformer who helps to create the high voltage or his power transistor is damage. replacement needed. the repair is not expensive, because the parts are average repair. Ask for an estimate.

Trouble turning on tv. High pitched noise/click.

The mainboard might have some loose components, or cold solder , or may be the filter capacitors are becoming faulty. Yes it is worth repairing, bring it to the repair shop. Cheers.

I found chirping noise problem

If your set is an RCA which I believe it is, you can contact RCA to find their part distributor for your area.

How did you determine that these parts are acutaly defective???

When these types of parts are defective, the cause must also be found. When replacing the parts, they will probably fail again unless the underlying cause is found. This will require the proper training, service manual, TV service experience, and the proper tools for troubleshooting.

As for changing the parts, you will require the proper tools and soldering equipment. After all the faults are found and the parts replaced, and the set is working, it is best to verify the power supply performance, the high voltage regulation, and the operating temperature of the various components effected in order to insure reliable after service operation.

Don't mistake hissing sound with a possible high pitched squeal. You probably have a shorted horizontal output transistor. Take it to a service center to be looked at by a professional.

TV does not turn on. When plugged into an outlet makes a high pitch noise.

Your problem is a shorted horizontal output transistor C5148 located behind the highvoltage transformer on a heat sink with a clip over it and you can't see the number unless you remove the clip Has to be unsolded and solder in new. Also the highvoltage transformer must be replaced This is the big part with the large red wire coming out and going to the top of the picture tube. Must be unsoldered and replaced with original RCA .....do not get a replacement It has several connections plus three wires to connect to it and I recommend using desoldering brad can get at Radio Shack 5 foot roll. Well as you can see it gets pretty involved. You can't get the parts from most distributors unless you have a business. If he tackles it and has a distributor the parts would run about $50 to $60 and a repairman average should be less than $200 and more than $150 hope this helps. Contact me for any questions you may have. I am more than willing to help.

A high pitched chirp is a sign that you have a short on the load of your power supply. I just finished repairing one of these sets and it had a shorted horizontal output transistor and a bad flyback transformer.
