Sony KP-51HW40 51 in. Rear Projection Television

My Sony KP-51HW40 isnt staying lit up.

posted by tom_man9 on Jul 25, 2008

My TV just wont work like it should anymore. It just suddenly went weird on me. So i took the back off and looked around. And turned it on as well. The projectors all light up for like less than a minute then they shut off. The standby light always flashes alot. No fuses seem blown and i got a can of the that dust remover stuff. can anyone suggest any solutions that problem?

If you are not a qualified service technician, I would strongly suggest you did not attempt to diagnois or "test" circuits as this could be for both the TV and possibly you. Have unit serviced by a pro technician

You should be little bit more specific. How many times does the standby light blink once the set turns off? That is an indicator for the problem with the set. Any colors showing brighter than others while the set is on? Please give us more to work with. Also, before you are removing panels, please make sure the unit is unplugged!
